Dragon’s Domain Records has announced a soundtrack album featuring the first-ever score releases for two movies starring Chuck Norris: the 1979 action movie Good Guys Wear Black directed by Ted Post featuring music composed by Craig Safan (The Last Starfighter, Stand and Deliver, Cheers, A Nightmare on Elm Street 4: The Dream Master) and the 1982 action sci-fi horror film Silent Rage directed by Michael Miller featuring music composed by Peter Bernstein (21 Jump Street, Bolero, The Ewok Adventure, My Science Project) & Mark Goldenberg (Class Reunion, Teen Wolf Too). Jim Parker (1934-2023)

Jim Parker has passed away at age 88. The British composer was known for scoring over a hundred episodes of ITV’s Midsomer Murders (aka Inspector Barnaby), the first seasons of ITV’s Foyle’s War, BBC’s Born and Bred and BBC’s original 1990 House of Cards series (for which he received a BAFTA TV Award nomination) and its two sequels. He won four BAFTA TV Awards for 1993’s second part of the House of Cards trilogy, To Play the King, 1996’s 4-part drama The Fortunes and Misfortunes of Moll Flanders, the 1997 mini-series The History of Tom Jones, a Foundling and the 1998 TV movie A Rather English Marriage starring Albert Finney, Tom Courtenay & Joanna Lumley. Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album for Disney+’s first French original movie A Place to Fight For (Une zone à défendre). The album features the film’s original music composed by Mathieu Lamboley (Lupin, The Rose Maker, A Minuscule Adventure, Sisters in Arms, The Accusation, The Last Mercenary). The soundtrack is now available to stream/download here, where you can also check out audio samples. Premiering on Tuesday, August 1, is the thriller River Wild directed by Ben Ketai and starring Adam Brody, Leighton Meester and Taran Killan. The film’s original music is composed by Tristan Clopet (StartUp). Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score this past Friday. Premiering on Friday, August 4, is the Australian Amazon limited series The Lost Flowers of Alice Hart directed by Glendyn Ivin and starring Sigourney Weaver, Asher Keddie, Frankie Adams, Leah Purcell, Alycia Debnam-Carey, Xavier Samuel, Alyla Browne and Sebastián Zurita. Polish pianist, singer and composer Hania Rani (I Never Cry, Subuk) has composed the show’s original music. The show is directed by Sydney Freeland & Catriona McKenzie and stars Alaqua Cox (who reprises her role of Echo/aka Maya Lopez from 2021’s Hawkeye), as well as Chaske Spencer, Devery Jacobs, Charlie Cox, Vincent D’Onofrio, Tantoo Cardinal, Cody Lightning, Graham Greene and Zahn McClarnon. Dillon, Rosario Dawson and Jamie Lee Curtis. The film’s original score is composed by Kris Bowers (Bridgerton, Green Book, Secret Invasion, King Richard, Queen Charlotte). Also opening wide is the Australian supernatural horror thriller Talk to Me directed by Danny & Michael Philippou and starring Sophie Wilde, Alexandra Jensen, Otis Dhanji, Joe Bird and Miranda Otto. Cornel Wilczek (Clickbait, These Final Hours, Nowhere Boys) has composed the film’s original score. No word on a soundtrack release. The movie, which follows a group of friends who discover how to conjure spirits using an embalmed hand, premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and is being distributed in the U.S. by A24.
