Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is the superhero movie Aquaman and the Lost Kingdom directed by James Wan and starring Jason Momoa, Patrick Wilson, Amber Heard, Randall Park, Yahya Abdul-Mateen II and Nicole Kidman. . The film’s original music is composed by Rupert Gregson-Williams (Hacksaw Ridge, Wonder Woman, The Gilded Age, Abominable, The Legend of Tarzan, Click). WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score and an original song by X Ambassadors today. Also opening wide is the animated feature Migration directed by Benjamin Renner and starring Kumail Nanjiani, Elizabeth Banks, Keegan-Michael Key, Awkafina and Danny DeVito. John Powell (How to Train Your Dragon, The Bourne Identity, Solo: A Star Wars Story, Shrek, United 93, Rio, Happy Feet) has composed the film’s original music. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences today announced the shortlists for several categories for the 96th Academy Awards, including Original Score and Original Song. The shortlisted scores and songs are listed in alphabetical order below. The nominations for the 96th Academy Awards will be announced on January 23, 2024 and the awards show will be held on March 10.
