Capitol Records has released the ninth soundtrack for the Paramount+ original series Grease: Rise of the Pink Ladies. The EP features the original songs from the ninth episode of the musical comedy: Face to Face performed by cast members Marisa Davila, Tricia Fukuhara, Ari Notartomaso & Cheyenne Isabel Wells, I’m in Love performed by Wells and Brutal Honesty performed by the show’s executive music producer Justin Tranter & Fukuhara. The label has previously released eight soundtracks featuring the songs from Episodes 1-8 over the last couple of weeks. Quartet Records has announced a soundtrack album for the Mexican adventure drama The Mighty Victoria (El Poderoso Victoria). The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Fernando Velázquez (The Orphanage, The Impossible, A Monster Calls, Hercules, Devil, Crimson Peak). The soundtrack is now available to order as a limited edition CD on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the full album details and listen to audio samples. A digital version will be available to stream/download here later this week. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album for the German Amazon original series The Gryphon (Der Greif). The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Thomas Mehlhorn & Jürgen Kramlofsky. The Gryphon is developed by Erol Yesilkaya & Sebastian Marka based on the fantasy book series by Wolfgang Hohlbein and stars Jeremias Meyer, Lea Drinda, Zoran Pingel and Theo Trebs. The fantasy drama follows three misfits who discover a fantastic world called The Black Tower where a world-devouring monster mercilessly subjugates all living creatures. The film’s original music is composed by Nathan Micay (Industry, The Last Bus). The details of the fourth soundtrack album for the HBO original series Succession have been revealed. The album features the original music from the show’s fourth and final season composed by Emmy Award winner and Academy Award nominee Nicholas Britell (Moonlight, Andor, Cruella, If Beale Street Could Talk, The Big Short, Don’t Look Up). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, May 29 by Britell’s new label, Lake George Music Group, and will be available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Republic Records has previously released a soundtrack featuring Britell’s score from Season 3, while WaterTower Music released the official Season 2 soundtrack and Milan Records has released the Season 1 album. Opening in theaters nationwide this weekend is Disney’s live-action adaptation of The Little Mermaid directed by Rob Marshall and starring Halle Bailey, Jonah Hauer-King, Melissa McCarthy, Javier Bardem, Jacob Tremblay, Daveed Diggs and Awkwafina. The film’s original score is composed by Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, Enchanted) and the movie’s songs are written by Menken, Howard Ashman and Lin-Manuel Miranda. Walt Disney Records has released two soundtrack albums: a regular edition featuring all the songs and five tracks from Menken’s score (click here for the full details) and a deluxe edition featuring the songs and Menken’s full score (click here for more information).
Also opening wide is the action comedy The Machine directed by Peter Atencio and starring Bert Kreischer, Mark Hamill, Stephanie Kurtzuba, Jimmy Tatro, Jess Gabor and Iva Babić. Joseph Trapanese (The Witcher, Oblivion, Shadow and Bone, The Greatest Showman, Straight Outta Compton) has composed the film’s original music.
