Quartet Records has announced the details of the soundtrack release for the supernatural thriller Mama. The album features the film’s original score composed and conducted by Fernando Velazquez (The Impossible, Devil). (UPDATE: January 14, 2013):The soundtrack has been released digitally and is now available on Amazon and iTunes. Audio clips can be checked out after the jump. A physical album is coming out overseas on January 16 and is available for pre-order on the label’s official website. Mama directed by Andy Muschietti and starring Jessica Chastain, Nikolaj Coster-Waldau, Megan Charpentier and Isabelle Nellsse follows a couple faced with the challenge of raising two children that were left alone in the forest for 5 years. Rick Smith has composed the score for the upcoming thriller Trance. The film is directed by Danny Boyle and stars James McAvoy, Vincent Cassel and Rosario Dawson. The movie follows a fine art auctioneer mixed up with a criminal gang who joins forces with a hypnotherapist to recover a lost painting. The thriller is based on a BBC film written by Joe Ahearne who has penned the screenplay for the project with John Hodge (Trainspotting, Shallow Grave). Christian Colson (Slumdog Millionaire) is producing the Film4 presentation of a Cloud Eight/Decibel Films production. Smith is best known as a member of the British electronic music group Underworld. Boyle has previously collaborated with the group on the 1996 drama Trainspotting, the sci-fi film Sunshine, as well the opening ceremony of last year’s Olympic Games in London. A soundtrack album has been announced for the Syfy original series Being Human. The album features selections from the show’s score from seasons 1 & 2 composed by FM Le Sieur. The soundtrack will be released on January 8 on iTunes. Check back for a link to download the album and to check out audio clips in a few days. Being Human based on the BBC series of the same name follows three roommates who struggle to keep their supernatural secrets and resist individual temptations as they strive to live lives that are as near to normal as possible. The show stars Sam Witwer, Meaghan Rath, Sam Huntington, Mark Pellegrino, Dichen Lachman and Kristen Hager. Clint Mansell is currently recording his score for the comedic thriller Filth. The movie is written and directed by Jon S. Baird (Green Street Hooligans, Cass) and stars James McAvoy, Jamie Bell, Jim Broadbent, Eddie Marsan, Imogen Poots and Joanne Frogatt. The film is based on the novel by Irvine Welsh (Trainspotting) and follows an Edinburgh police detective who is manipulating everyone who stands in his way of securing a job promotion and winning back his family and daughter. Baird is also producing the thriller with Ken Marshall, Judy Styler (Moon) & Celine Rattray (The Kids Are All Right) for Maven Pictures and Jens Meurer (The Last Station, Black Book) for Egoli Tossell. A new featurette on Alexandre Desplat‘s score for Ben Affleck’s Argo was published today. The video features footage from the recording sessions of the music, as well as interview clips with the composer and vocalist Sussan Deyhim. Check out the full video after the jump. The score for Argo already received a Golden Globe and Critics’ Choice Movie Award nomination and is considered a frontrunner to pick up an Academy Award nomination next week. Pedro Bromfman has officially been hired to score the upcoming RoboCop remake. The film is directed by Jose Padhila and stars Joel Kinnaman in the title role as a Detroit police office who’s transformed into RoboCop after he’s murdered while on duty. Samuel L. Jackson, Gary Oldman, Michael Keaton, Jay Baruchel, Abbie Cornish, John Paul Ruttan, Jackie Earle Haley, Jennifer Ehle and Marianne Jean-Baptiste are co-starring. Eric Newman & Marc Abraham (Children of Men, Dawn of the Dead) and Roger Birnbaum (Wanted, Rush Hour) & Gary Barber (True Romance) are producing the Strike Entertainment, MGM and Columbia Pictures production. The film is directed by Martha Shane and Lana Wilson and centers on the four remaining doctors in the United States who continue to perform third-trimester abortions after the assassination of Dr. George Tiller in Kansas in 2009. The movie follows each of the four physicians’ private and professional struggles. Shane and Wilson are also producing the documentary and have co-written the screenplay with Greg O’Toole. ‘Call the Midwife’ Soundtrack Announced

DMG TV will release a soundtrack album for the BBC original series Call the Midwife. The 2-CD set features all the key songs and incidental music from series 1, 2 and the Christmas Special, including classic songs performed by Doris Day, Malcolm Vaughan, Elvis Presley, Perry Como and Andy Williams. The soundtrack will be released in the UK on February 18, 2013. No word yet on a domestic release date. Call the Midwife created by Heidi Thomas (Cranford) and starring Jessica Raine, Jenny Agutter, Pam Ferris, Miranda Hart, Judy Parfitt, Helen George, Bryony Hannah and Laura Main follows the newly qualified midwife Jenny Lee and the work of midwives and the nuns of Nonnatus House, a nursing convent.
