In our fourth part of our fall television music series, we are taking a look at the new and returning shows on NBC:

Among the new shows on the network that premiered this fall is the fantasy crime drama Grimm created by David Greenwalt & Jim Kouf and starring Russell Hornsby, David Giuntoli, Bitsie Tulloch, Silas Weir Mitchell, Sasha Roiz and Reggie Lee. The show’s score is written by Richard Marvin (U-571, Surrogates, Six Feet Under). The drama centers on a homicide detective who learns that he is a descendent of a group known as “Grimms” who fight to keep humanity safe from the supernatural creatures of the world. In our third part of our roundup of this fall’s television music, we are taking a look at the new and returning shows on CBS:

Among the network’s new shows is the drama Person of Interest created by Jonathan Nolan (brother of Christopher Nolan) and starring Michael Emerson, Jim Caviezel, Taraji B. Henson and Kevin Chapman. The score for the show is composed by Ramin Djawadi (Iron Man, Game of Thrones). The show produced by J.J. Abrams, Bryan Burk, Greg Plageman and David Semel centers on a presumed dead former-CIA agent who teams up with a mysterious billionaire to prevent violent crimes by using their own brand of vigilante justice. Ludovic Bource Wins European Film Award for ‘The Artist’

Ludovic Bource has won the European Film Award for his score for Michel Hazanavicius‘ black-and-white romance The Artist in the European Composer cateogory at tonight’s EFA Night 2011. The composer accepted his first European Film Award in person at the EFA ceremony in Berlin. The other composers nominated in the music category were Alexandre Desplat for The King’s Speech, Alberto Iglesias for The Skin I Live In (La piel que habito) and Mihály Vig for The Turin Horse (A Torinoi Lo). Bource is also considered to be one of the frontrunners for this season’s Academy Awards. Bource’s soundtrack for The Artist has been released by Sony Classical. While there are no movies opening wide this weekend, a number of films are receiving a limited release:

The most talked about movie opening this week is the drama Shame directed by Steve McQueen and starring Michael Fassbender, Carey Mulligan, James Badge Dale, Nicole Beharie and Hannah Ware. The film’s score is composed by Harry Escott. A soundtrack album featuring three tracks from the score, as well as several songs from the film performed by artists including Blondie, Howlin’ Wolf and actress Carey Mulligan will be released on December 6 by Sony Music. Receiving an Oscar qualifying run this weekend before opening wider next year is the drama The Lady directed by Luc Besson and starring Michelle Yeoh and David Thewlis. The film’s music is written by the director’s regular musical collaborator Eric Serra. A soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the song Soldier of Love by Sade has been released overseas by Strategic Marketing Group. ‘Answers to Nothing’ Soundtrack Announced

Lakeshore Records has announced the details of the soundtrack release for the indie drama Answers to Nothing. The album features the original score by composer Craig Richey (Friends with Money, The King of Kong: A Fistful of Dollars), as well as several songs from the movie by artists including Nico Vega, Brian Vander Ark and Imagine Dragons. Andrea Guerra Scoring ‘Playing the Field’

Andrea Guerra is scoring the upcoming romantic comedy Playing the Field. The movie is directed by Gabriele Muccino (The Pursuit of Happyness, Seven Pounds) and stars Gerard Butler, Jessica Biel, Judy Greer, Dennis Quaid, Uma Thurman and Catherine Zeta-Jones. The film revolves around the homecoming of a retired soccer star whose glory days are behind him. He moves back to Virginia to reconnect with his ex-wife and neglected son and starts to coach the boys’ soccer team. Butler is also producing the NuImage/Millennium Films production with Alan Siegel (Law Abiding Citizen), Kevin Misher (Public Enemies, The Interpreter), Jonathan Mostow (Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines, U-571), Heidi Jo Markel (Trust) and John Thompson (The Expendables, Rambo). ‘The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo’ Soundtrack Details

Null Records has announced the details of the soundtrack for David Fincher’s The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo. The album features the original score from the movie by Trent Reznor and Atticus Ross, as well as Reznor’s and Karen O’s cover of Led Zeppelin’s Immigrant Song. The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 9, 2011 (visit iTunes to pre-order the album) and later in the month as a 3-CD set, which is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Robert Duncan is set to score the upcoming ABC drama Missing. The show stars Ashley Judd as a mother who travels to Europe to track down her son who disappeared while studying abroad. It soon becomes clear that she is a former CIA agent who will stop at nothing to bring her son home alive. Sean Bean, Cliff Curtis, Adriano Giannini, Nick Eversman and Tereza Voriskova are co-starring. ‘The Darkest Hour’ Soundtrack Details

The details of the soundtrack release for the sci-fi horror film The Darkest Hour have been revealed. The album includes the original score from the movie by composer Tyler Bates, as well the songs I Like That by Richard Vission and Static Revenger feat. Luciana and Mockba (Moscow) by Marselle. The soundtrack is set for a release on December 13, 2011 by Lakeshore Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips from all 19 tracks on the album can be checked out below.
