Marco Beltrami has been hired to score the upcomong gothic horror thriller The Woman in Black. The movie is directed by James Watkins (Eden Lake) and stars Daniel Radcliffe as a young lawyer who travels to a remote village in England to tend to a deceased client’s papers and soon begins to discover town’s terrible secrets. Atlantic Records has announced the track list of the soundtrack release for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1. The album includes one track from the score by Carter Burwell whose music has recently been recorded. Other artists featured on the soundtrack include The Joy Formidables, Angus & Julia Stone, Bruno Mars, Sleeping at Last, Christina Perri, Iron & Wine, Cider Sky and Mia Maestro. The album will be released on November 8, 2011 and is available for pre-order on Amazon. A separate score album is expected to be announced closer to the film’s release. The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 1 is directed by Bill Condon and stars Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, Taylor Lautner, Dakota Fanning, Michael Sheen, Anna Kendrick and Ashley Greene. Reinhold Heil, Johnny Klimek and Tom Tykwer have recently written and recorded music for the director’s upcoming sci-fi feature Cloud Atlas. The movie written and co-directed by Andy & Lana Wachowski and Tykwer stars Tom Hanks, Jim Sturgess, Halle Berry, Hugo Weaving, Susan Sarandon, Hugh Grant, Keith David, Ben Whishaw and Jim Broadbent. The film based on the novel by David Mitchell intertwines six stories spanning different times that sees one character shaped from a murderer to a savior. Stefan Arndt (Run Lola Run) and Philip Lee are producing with Tykwer and the Wachowskis. Heil and Klimek have been collaborating with Tykwer on the music for most of the director’s previous features, most recently on the Clive Owen- and Naomi Watts-starring thriller The International and the German language film 3. ‘Take Shelter’ Soundtrack Details

Milan Records has revealed the details of the soundtrack album for the drama Take Shelter. The album features the original score by composer David Wingo, as well as Ben Nichols’ credit song Shelter, which was written for the film. The soundtrack will be released on September 27, 2011 and is available to pre-order on Amazon. MovieScore Media has announced a soundtrack release for last year’s historical drama Princess Kaiulani. The album features the original score from the film composed by Academy Award-winning composer Stephen Warbeck (Shakespeare in Love). The music is performed by the Honolulu Symphony Orchestra. The soundtrack will be released on CD and digitally on October 11, 2011. Princess Kaiulani is the feature directing debut of Marc Forby and tells the true story of Princess Ka’iulani’s attempts to maintain the independence of Hawaii against the threat of American colonization at the end of the 19th century. Cutting Edge Group’s Pale Blue label has released a soundtrack album for the action thriller Killer Elite. The album features the orginal score by composers Johnny Klimek and Reinhold Heil, as well as the song Turkish Acid Bath by the English rock band Kasabian. The soundtrack has been released this past Tuesday and is now available digitally in different formats on Pale Blue Soundtracks’ website. Four new movies are opening in wide release this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the the family movie Dolphin Tale directed by Charles Martin Smith and starring Morgan Freeman, Ashley Judd, Harry Connick, Jr., Kris Kristofferson and Nathan Gamble. The film’s score is written by Mark Isham. Varese Sarabande will be releasing the soundtrack album including Isham’s music on October 11, 2011. Also opening this weekend is the drama Moneyball directed by Bennett Mikler and starring Brad Pitt, Robin Wright, Jonah Hill, Philip Seymour Hoffman and Chris Pratt. The film’s music is composed by Mychael Danna. A soundtrack album featuring Danna’s score, as well as two songs by Kerris Dorsey and This Will Destroy You has been released earlier this week on Madison Gate Records. According to the movie’s new poster, Thomas Newman is scoring the upcoming biopic The Iron Lady. We have previously reported a couple of months ago that In Contention announced that Clint Mansell is writing the music for the drama. No word on whether he has written or recorded any material for the project. The Iron Lady directed by Phyllida Lloyd (Mamma Mia!) stars Meryl Streep as former British prime minister Margaret Thatcher. The movie follows her career, which saw her smash through barriers of gender and class in order to be heard in a male-dominated world. Jim Broadbent is co-starring in the Abi Morgan-scripted picture. Varese Sarabande has announced a soundtrack release for George Clooney’s drama The Ides of March. The album includes the original score from the film composed by Alexandre Desplat. The soundtrack will be released on November 1, 2011. More details are expected to be announced in the next couple of weeks and will be posted on this page. The Ides of March stars Ryan Gosling, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Paul Giamatti, Evan Rachel Wood, Marisa Tomei, Max Minghella and Jeffrey Wright. The movie about a young press spokesman who falls prey to backroom politics recently premiered at the Venice Film Festival and was also shown at the Toronto Film Festival. Milan Records will be releasing the soundtrack for the upcoming 3D adaptation of The Three Musketeers in the US. The album featuring the orginal score from the movie composed by Paul Haslinger will be released on October 18, 2011.
