‘Hitchcock’ Soundtrack Details

The details of the soundtrack album for the biographical comedy drama Hitchcock have beem revealed. The album features the film’s original score composed by Danny Elfman. The soundtrack will be released on December 4, 2012 by Sony Classical and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips from the album below. Hitchcock is directed Sacha Gervasi and stars Anthony Hopkins in the title role, alongside Helen Mirren, Scarlett Johansson, James D’Arcy, Toni Collette, Michael Stuhlbarg, Jessica Biel and Danny Huston. The movie following the iconic director’s struggles during the filmmaking of the horror classic Psycho will be released on November 23, 2012 by Fox Searchlight. Read the rest of this entry »

Atli Orvarsson has recently reunited with director Olatunde Osunsanmi on the upcoming thriller Evidence. The film stars Stephen Moyer, Radha Mitchell, Nolan Gerard Funk, Dale Dickey, Caitlin Stasey, Torrey DeVitto, Albert Kuo and Harry Lennix. The movie follows a detective who hunts down a killer using video footage shot by the victims of a massacre at an abandoned gas station. John Swetnam has written the screenplay. Marc Platt (Drive, Wanted) is producing the project through his own production company, alongside David Lancaster & Michel Litvak (Legion, Bobby) through Bold Films and Anthony Rhulen (The Butterfly Effect, Lucky Number Slevin) through FilmEngine. John Swihart is scoring the upcoming FOX comedy The Goodwin Games. The show is created by Carter Bays and Craig Thomas and stars Scott Foley, Becki Newton, T. J. Miller, Kat Foster and Melissa Tang. The series follows three grown siblings who return home after their father’s death, and unexpectedly find themselves poised to inherit a vast fortune – if they adhere to their late father’s wishes. Bays and Thomas have previously created and are executive producing the CBS hit comedy How I Met Your Mother, which Swihart has been scoring for the past seven years. They are also executive producing The Goodwin Games with Chris Harris and Peyton Reed (The Break-Up, Bring It On) who also directed the pilot episode. Premiering tonight is the action thriller Seal Team Six: The Raid on Osama Bin-Laden directed by John Stockwell and starring Cam Gigandet, Xzibit, Freddy Rodriguez, Anson Mount, Kathleen Robertson, Eddie Kaye Thomas, Kenneth Miller, Robert Knepper and William Fichtner. The film’s music is composed by Paul Haslinger who has previously worked with the director on such films as Crazy/Beautiful, Blue Crush, Into the Blue and Turistas. The movie, which was originally entitled Code Name: Geronimo premieres tonight on the National Geography Channel and will next air on Friday, November 9. Gabriel Mann has been hired to score the Sundance Channel’s first hourlong scripted series Rectify. The six-part legal drama stars Abigail Spencer, Clayne Crawford, Adelaide Clements, Jonah Lotan and J. Smith Cameron. The show is created by Ray McKinnon (screenwriter of An Evening Sun and actor in FX’s Sons of Anarchy) and follows a man who is released from Death Row after spending 19 years in prison and returns to his hometown where he must readjust to his new life, including unfamiliar family members and surroundings. Mark Johnson (The Chronicle of Narnia series, Rain Man) and Melissa Bernstein (Breaking Bad) are executive producing the project with McKinnon. Read the rest of this entry »

Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Expected to top the weekend box office is the animated feature Wreck-It-Ralph directed by Rich Moore and featuring the voice talent of John C. Reilly, Sarah Silverman, Jack McBrayer and Jane Lynch. The film’s score is composed by Henry Jackman (X-Men: First Class). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the score, as well as one track by Skrillex who wrote some of the in-game music and other songs featured in the film. Attached to the film is the animated short Paperman, which features an original score by Christophe Beck.

Also opening wide is the drama director Robert Zemeckis and starring Denzel Washington, Kelly Reilly, Don Cheadle, Bruce Greenwood, John Goodman, Melissa Leo and James Badge Dale. The director’s regular musical collaborator Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, The Avengers) has composed the film’s original score. Steven Price has been tapped to score the upcoming comedy The World’s End. The film is directed by Edgar Wright and stars Simon Pegg, Nick Frost, Rosamund Pike, Martin Freeman, Paddy Considine and Eddie Marsan. The movie is the third part of the director’s “cornetto” trilogy of comedies written by Wright and Pegg and starring Pegg and Frost, following Shaun Of The Dead and Hot Fuzz (scored by David Arnold). The comedy follows five childhood friends who reunite in an attempt to top their epic pub crawl from 20 years earlier and unwittingly become humankind’s only hope for survival. Nira Park (Scott Pilgrim vs. the WorldPaul) is producing for Big Talk Pictures and Tim Bevan & Eric Fellner (Love ActuallyAtonement) are producing for Working Title Films. The video features interviews with composer Henry Jackman (X-Men: First Class, Puss in Boots), as well as sound re-recording mixers David Fluhr & Gary Rizzo and supervising sound editor Frank Eulner. The full score for Robert Zemeckis’ drama Flight has been made available online by Paramount Pictures. The music is written by Academy Award-nominated composer Alan Silvestri who has worked with the director for almost three decades on movies including Back to the Future, Forrest GumpCast Away and The Polar Express. To listen to the full score, visit Paramount’s awards site. The track titles contain some minor spoilers. As the movie features just a little over 20 minutes of score, no soundtrack album has been announced yet. Flight starring Denzel Washington, Kelly Reilly, Don Cheadle, Bruce Greenwood, John Goodman, Melissa Leo and James Badge Dale tells the story of an airline pilot with substance abuse issues who saves 98 lives when a damaged engine threatens an airplane flight. Mark Isham is scoring the upcoming TNT original series L.A. Noir. The show created by Frank Darabont (The Shawshank Redemption, The Green Mile) and based on on the book L.A. Noir: The Struggle For The Soul Of America’s Most Seductive City by John Buntin chronicles the battle between Los Angeles Police Chief William Parker and mobster Mickey Cohen, a one-time boxer who rose to the top of LA.s criminal world during the 1940’s & 1950’s. The series stars Jon Berthnal, Jeffrey DeMunn, Jeremy Strong, Neal McDonough, Milo Ventimiglia, Ron Rifkin, Pihla Viitala and Alexa Davalos. Darabont who has previously collaborated with Isham on the feature films The Mist and The Majestic directed the pilot episode and is executive producing the project with Michael De Luca (The Social Network) and Elliott Webb (Tall Time Tales).
