According to First Showing, Summit Entertainment has confirmed that Steve Jablonsky is scoring the upcoming sci-fi movie Ender’s Game. The composer is taking over scoring duties from James Horner who was previously attached to score the film as reported earlier this year. The film is directed by Gavin Hood (X-Men: Wolverine) and stars Asa Butterfield, Harrison Ford, Abigail Breslin, Hailee Steinfeld, Ben Kingsley, Viola Davis, Aramis Knight, Moises Arias, Jimmy “Jax” Pinchak, Suraj Partha, Conor Carroll and Khylin Rhambo. The details of the soundtrack album for M. Night Shyamalan’s upcoming sci-fi adventure After Earth have been revealed. The album features the film’s original score composed by the director’s regular musical collaborator James Newton Howard (The Sixth Sense, Unbreakable, Signs, The Village). Blake Neely has scored the pilot for the CBS drama The Advocates. The show is created by Bruno Heller (Rome) and stars Ben McKenzie and Mandy Moore. The project follows a lawyer and an ex-con who team up as “victim advocates”, going to the edge of the law to right wrongs and fight for the underdog. David Nutter (Disturbing Behavior) directed the pilot episode and is also executive producing the Warner Bros. Television production with Heller. Neely has previously collaborated with Heller on the long-running CBS hit drama The Mentalist, which has already been renewed for a sixth season. Mark Orton has composed the score for the upcoming comedy drama Nebraska. The film is directed by Alexander Payne and stars Will Forte, Bruce Dern, June Squibb, Bob Odenkirk and Stacy Keach. The movie was shot in black and white and follows an old man with increasing dementia who goes on a road trip from Montana to Nebraska with one of his sons to collect a sweepstakes prize he thinks he has won. Albert Berger and Ron Yerxa (Little Miss Sunshine, Little Children) are producing the project for Bona Fide Productions. Orton is best known as a member of the Californian acoustic chamber music group Tin Hat. Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for the documentary We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks. The album features the film’s original music by Fall On Your Sword (Another Earth, Lola Versus). The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 21, 2013 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Audio clips are available after the jump. We Steal Secrets: The Story of WikiLeaks is helmed by Academy Award-winning director Alex Gibney (Taxi to the Dark Side, Enron: The Smartest Guys in the Room) and details the creation of Julian Assange’s controversial website, which facilitated the largest security breach in U.S. history. The movie premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and will be released on May 24, 2013 in New York and Los Angeles by Focus World before expanding to more cities on May 31. The movie follows a mixed–race girl who is raised as an aristocratic lady in 18th century England Story and faces class and color prejudices and develops a relationship with a vicar’s son who is an advocate for slave emancipation. Chris Tilton is scoring the pilot for the sci-fi cop buddy cop drama Human. The show is created by J.H. Concert Line-Up Announced for International Film Music Festival in Cordoba 2013

The full details of three major concerts at this year’s International Film Music Festival in Cordoba have been announced. On June 28, the festival will host its first Elmer Bernstein Award Gala Concert, where Marco Beltrami will be the recipient of the new Elmer Bernstein Award. Peter Bernstein will conduct a tribute to Elmer and there will be a 60 minute concert program devoted to the film music of Beltrami, including performances of such scores as Hellboy, I, Robot, Soul Surfer and the upcoming Snowpiercer. On June 27, another concert entitled The Best of the Best will be held and feature music of Academy Award-winning composers Mychael Danna (Life of Pi) and Rachel Portman (Emma), as well as Peter Bernstein (The Ewok Adventure), Alfons Conde (The Abandoned) and Ilan Eshkeri (Stardust). Junkie XL has taken over scoring duties on the upcoming action sequel 300: Rise of an Empire. The film is directed by Noam Murro and stars Sullivan Stapleton, Rodrigo Santoro, Eva Green, Callan Mulvey, Jack O’Connell and Lena Headey are co-starring. The movie follows the Greek general Themistocles as he battles an invading army of Persians under turned-god Xerxes. The original movie’s director Zack Snyder co-wrote the screenplay with Kurt Johnstad (Act of Valor, 300) based on Frank Miller’s novel and is also producing the Legendary Films production with Mark Canton & Gianni Nunnari (300, Immortals), Bernie Goldmann, Deborah Snyder (Man of Steel, Watchmen) and Thomas Tull (42, Pacific Rim).
