Hans Zimmer is set to score the upcoming animated feature The Little Prince (Le petit prince). The film is directed by Mark Osborne and features the voice talent of James Franco, Rachel McAdams, Jeff Bridges, Benicio Del Toro, Marion Cotillard, Albert Brooks, Mackenzie Foy and Paul Giamatti. The movie based on the novel of the same title by Antoine de Saint-Exupéry follows a pilot who crashes in the desert and meets a little boy from a distant planet who regales him with stories about his home and the inhabitants of nearby asteroids. Aton Soumache and Dimitri Rassam (Upside Down, Escobar: Paradise Lost) are producing the project for Onyx Films. Read the rest of this entry »
Columbia Records will release a new soundtrack album for the FX original series Sons of Anarchy. Sons of Anarchy: Vol. 4 features Ed Sheeran’s song Make It Rain, as well as collaborations between the show’s house band The Forest Rangers and artists including Billy Valentine, Amos Lee, The White Buffalo, Franky Perez, Joshua James, Audra Mae & more. The soundtrack will be released on February 24, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The label has previously released three different soundtracks for the hit series: Vol. 1, Vol. 2 and Vol. 3. Sons of Anarchy created by Kurt Sutter and starring Charlie Hunnam, Ron Perlman and Katey Sagal just finished its run with the final episode of the seventh season last night. Tony Morales and Edward Rogers are composing the music for the upcoming Netflix original series Bloodline. The show is created by Todd A. Kessler, Daniel Zelman & Glenn Kessler (Damages) and stars Kyle Chandler, Ben Mendelsohn, Linda Cardellini, Sam Shepard, Sissy Spacek, Norbert Leo Butz, Jamie McShane, Jacinda Barrett and Enrique Murcian. The dramatic thriller follows a close-knit family of four adult siblings whose secrets and scars are revealed when their black sheep brother returns home. Hollywood Records has released the first song from the upcoming ABC musical comedy Galavant. The track is written by Academy Award winner Alan Menken (The Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Enchanted) and Glenn Slater and performed by the show’s cast. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album for the animated feature Tinker Bell and the Legend of NeverBeast. The album features the film’s original music composed by Joel McNeely (A Million Ways to Die in the West, Holes, Young Indiana Jones Chronicles) who previously scored the other music for Disney Toon Studios’ Tinker Bell franchise. Also included are the original songs from the film by KT Tunstall. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio clips. Tinker Bell and the Legend of NeverBeast is directed by Steve Loter and features the voices of Mae Whitman, Angela Bartys, Pamela Adlon, Lucy Liu, Megan Hilty, Raven-Symone and Lucy Hale. Haim Mazar has signed on to score the upcoming action thriller Criminal. The film is directed by Ariel Vromen and stars Kevin Costner, Gary Oldman, Tommy Lee Jones, Ryan Reynolds, Alice Eve and Gal Gadot. The movie revolves around a dangerous criminal who has the memories and skills of a dead CIA agent implanted into his brain in order to track down and stop an international terrorist. Douglas Cook & David Weisberg (The Rock, Double Jeopardy) have written the screenplay. Chris Bender (The Butterfly Effect, We’re the Millers), J.C. MovieScore Media will release a soundtrack album for the Danish TV series 1864. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Marco Beltrami (Scream, Snowpiercer, 3:10 to Yuma, World War Z). The soundtrack will be released on December 16, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1993 adventure drama A Far Off Place directed by Mikael Salomon and starring Reese Witherspoon, Jack Thompson and Maximilian Schell. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Academy Award winner James Horner (Titanic, Braveheart, Avatar, A Beautiful Mind), including more than half an hour of previously unreleased music. Also included are two cues that were not used in the final version of the film.
