Hollywood Records will release a new soundtrack album for the ABC musical comedy Galavant. The album features previously unreleased songs from the show composed by Academy Award winner Alan Menken (Beauty and the Beast, Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Enchanted) and featuring lyrics by Glenn Slater (Tangled, Home on the Range). Galavant: The Unreleased Collection will be released digitally tomorrow, May 12 and will be available to download on Amazon. The label will also release a physical Amazon On Demand version, Galavant: The Complete Collection, featuring the unreleased songs and all 42 tracks from the Season 1 & Season 2 soundtrack soon. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring the songs from the first season. Galavant is created by Dan Fogelman and stars Joshua Sasse, Mallory Jansen, Karen David, Timothy Omundson, Vinnie Jones and Luke Youngblood. First Songs from ABC’s ‘Galavant’ Season 2 Released
Hollywood Records has released the first three songs from Season 2 of the ABC musical comedy Galavant. The songs are written by Academy Award winner Alan Menken (Aladdin, The Little Mermaid, Beauty and the Beast, Enchanted) and Glenn Slater and are performed by the series’ cast. The new songs include the track A New Season, which is available to download on Amazon and can be checked out after the jump, as well as the track World’s Best Kiss, which can be downloaded here. Also available now is the song Off with His Shirt, which features guest star Kyle Minogue and is available to download on Amazon. A full soundtrack featuring the songs from the second season will be released later this year. The label has previously released a soundtrack featuring the music from the first season.

‘Supernatural’ Musical Episode ‘Fan Fiction’ to Feature Songs by Christopher Lennertz & Jay Gruska
Christopher Lennertz and Jay Gruska have composed the original songs for the 200th episode of The CW hit series Supernatural. The special musical episode entitled Fan Fiction follows Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean Winchester (Jensen Ackles) as they investigate the disappearance of a high school teacher and are stunned to discover that the school is putting on a musical based on their lives. One of the show’s writers Robert Thompson wrote the lyrics to accompany the composers’ music. Original songs include The Boys Investigate, Supernatural, A Single Man Tear, The Road So Far, I’ll Just Wait Here Then, and an a cappella version of Carry on My Wayward Son. Lennertz and Gruska have been scoring the series since the first season.
Alan Menken to Produce and Write Music for ABC Pilot ‘Galavant’
Variety is reporting that Alan Menken will be writing the music and executive producing the ABC comedy musical pilot Galavant. The show is created by Dan Fogelman (Crazy, Stupid, Love, Bolt, Tangled) and centers on handsome Prince Galavant and his quest for revenge over the king who stole his one true love. Fogelman is also executive producing the ABC Studios production with Menken and Glenn Slater who is expected to write the lyrics for the show’s original songs. Menken and Slater have previously collaborated with Fogelman for a musical episode of the ABC comedy The Neighbors, for which the duo was recently nominated for an Emmy Award.
