Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1978 classic ABC sci-fi series Battlestar Galactica created by Glen A. Larson and starring Richard Hatch, Dirk Benedict, Lorne Greene, John Colicos, Maren Jensen, Herbert Jefferson Jr., Noah Hathaway, Tony Swartz, Laurette Spang, Terry Carter and Anne Lockhart. The 8-CD box set features the newly remastered original music from the show composed by Stu Phillips (Battlestar Galactica, Quincy, Buck Rogers in the 25th Century,The Fall Guy, McCloud, The Six Million Dollar Man), as well as selections from his score for the sequel series Galactica 1980. Also included is a remastered version of the 1978 MCA Records album, alternate and cover versions of the song It’s Love, Love, Love, a disco arrangement of the main theme, and a special arrangement by Phillips for the Boston Pops album Out of This World, conducted by John Williams. The Classic Series Soundtrack Collection, which features almost 90 minutes of previously unreleased music, is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also listen to audio samples and find out more about the release. Battlestar Galactica (The Complete Series) is now available on VOD,Blu-ray and DVD.
