ABKCO Records will release the official soundtrack album for Wes Anderson’s comedy The Grand Budapest Hotel. The album features the film’s original music composed by Alexandre Desplat (The King’s Speech, Argo, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows) who previously collaborated with the director on The Fantastic Mr. Fox and Moonrise Kingdom. Also included are a number of folk music tracks used in the movie. The soundtrack will be released on March 4, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Grand Budapest Hotel is written and directed by Anderson and stars Ralph Fiennes, Tony Revolori, Willem Dafoe, Jeff Goldblum, Jason Schwartzman, Jude Law, Tilda Swinton, Bill Murray, Owen Wilson and Adrien Brody. Max Richter to Score ‘Paradise Lost’

Max Richter has been hired to score the upcoming romantic thriller Paradise Lost. The movie is written and directed by Andrea di Stefano and stars Josh Hutcherson as a young American surfer who takes a trip to Colombia and falls in love with a beautiful local girl. Their romance seems idyllic until he meets her uncle, drug lord Pablo Escobar, played by Benicio Del Toro. Claudia Traisac, Carlos Bardem, Brian Geraghty and Ana Girardot are co-starring. Ellie Goulding to Perform on ‘Divergent’ Soundtrack

Ellie Goulding has announced that she has recorded the original song Beating Heart for the film adaptation of the young adult novel Divergent. She also announced on ABC’s Good Morning America today that she will be the “musical voice” of Shailene Woodley’s character Tris and that her voice will be featured on the instrumental score. Junkie XL is the composer on the film and Hans Zimmer serves as the executive score producer. Check back on this page for more information about the soundtrack and score. Alexandre Azaria and Marc Bell are composing the music for the upcoming action thriller Brick Mansions. The film is directed by Camille Delamarre and is an English language remake of Pierre Morel’s 2004 film District B13. The movie stars Paul Walker as an undercover cop who is tasked with going into a tenement named Brick Mansions in order to disarm a neutron bomb that is ticking down. Sparks & Shadows will release a soundtrack album for the new Starz original series Black Sails. The album features the show’s original score composed by Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, Marvel’s Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.), including the composer’s main titles theme. The soundtrack will be released digitally and physically on January 28, 2014. Black Sails marks McCreary’s second collaboration with show creator Jonathan E. Steinberg following Human Target and follows the tales of Captain Flin and his men twenty years prior to Robert Louis Stevenson’s classic Treasure Island. The pirate adventure is co-created by Robert Levine and stars Toby Stephens, Luke Arnold, Zach McGowan, Toby Schmitz, Hannah New, Tom Hopper, Jessica Parker Kennedy, Clara Paget and Mark Ryan. Trent Reznor has announced on Twitter that he is reuniting with composer Atticus Ross to score David Fincher’s upcoming thriller Gone Girl. The film is based on the bestselling novel by Gillian Flynn and stars Ben Affleck, Rosamund Pike, Neil Patrick Harris, Tyler Perry, Kim Dickens, Patrick Fugit and Carrie Coon. The movie follows a woman who disappears on the day of her fifth wedding anniversary. Flynn has also written the screenplay and Fincher is producing the project with Pacific Standard’s Reese Witherspoon and Bruna Papandrea (Warm Bodies, All Good Things). Reznor and Ross have previously written the music for Fincher’s The Social Network and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo and received an Academy Award for their work on the former project.
