‘Cavemen’ Soundtrack Announced

cavemenLakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the indie romantic comedy Cavemen. The album features  the songs from the movie by Names of Stars, Golden State, We3Kings, The Peach Kings, Mathclub and more. Also included are two tracks from the film’s original score composed by Ronen Landa (The Pact). The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 11, 2014. Audio clips are available after the jump. Cavemen is written and directed by Herschel Faber and stars Skylar Astin, Camilla Belle, Chad Michael Murray, Alexis Knapp, Dayo Okeniyi and Kenny Wormald. The movie follows a playboy who is fed up with one-night-stands and empty relationships and decides to try his hand at finding true love for the first time. Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

3-days-to-killOpening in most theaters is the action thriller 3 Days to Kill directed by McG and starring Kevin Costner, Hailee Steinfeld, Amber Heard and Connie Nielsen. Guillaume Roussel (Crossing Lines) has composed the film’s original music. No soundtrack album has been announced yet.  3 Days to Kill follows a dangerous international spy who is determined to give up his high-stakes life to finally build a closer relationship with his estranged wife and daughter, whom he’s previously kept at arm’s length to keep out of danger. pompeiiAlso opening wide is the historical action epic Pompeii directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and starring Kit Harington, Carrie-Anne Moss, Emily Browning, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Jared Harris, Paz Vega and Kiefer Sutherland. Clinton Shorter (District 9, 2 GunsContraband) has composed the film’s original score. Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s music digitally earlier this week. A CD version will be coming out on February 25. ‘Drive Hard’ Soundtrack Details

drive-hardVarese Sarabande will release a soundtrack album for the action thriller Drive Hard. The album features the film’s original music composed by Bryce Jacobs. Also included are three songs by Hart Steen, Anthony Snape and Jake Glenn Tribe. The soundtrack will be released on March 4, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check back on this page for audio clips. Drive Hard is directed by Brian Trenchard-Smith and stars John Cusack and Thomas Jane. The movie follows a former race car driver turned driver’s training instructor who is abducted by a mysterious thief and forced to be the wheelman for a crime that leads them all on a chase across Australia’s Gold Coast. in-my-dreamsWilliam Ross has announced on Twitter that he will be scoring the upcoming Hallmark Hall of Fame romantic comedy In My Dreams. The film is directed by Kenny Leon (A Raisin in the Sun) and stars Katherine McPhee, Mike Vogel and JoBeth Williams. The movie follows a restaurant owner and a bridge architect who throw a penny into the local fountain fabled for bringing lovers together and start having dreams about each other, during which they fall in love. Teena Booth and Brent Shields (Remember Sunday, Christmas in Conway) is executive producing the project. Ross has previously collaborated with Leon on Lifetime’s Steel Magnolias remake. ‘Divergent’ Soundtrack Details

divergentThe details for the soundtrack album for the young adult novel film adaptation of Divergent have been revealed. The album features the songs from the film, including the original tracks Beating Heart by Ellie Goulding, Find You by Zedd feat. Matthew Koma & Miriam Bryant and Fight for You by Pia Mia feat. Chance The Rapper. Also features included are tracks by M83, Snow Patrol, A$AP Rocky feat. Gesaffelstein, Pretty Lights and more. The soundtrack will be released on March 11, 2014 by Interscope Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A separate soundtrack featuring the film’s original score composed by Junkie XL and executive produced by Hans Zimmer is reportedly also in the works. Divergent based on Veronica Roth’s first of a trilogy of novels is directed by Neil Burger and stars Shailene Woodley, Theo James, Kate Winslet,  Aaron Eckhart,  Zoe Kravitz, Miles Teller, Ray Stevenson, Jai Courtney, Ansel Elgort, Ashley Judd and Maggie Q. ‘HitRECord on TV’ Soundtrack Announced

The album features the songs from the show’s first season, including such tracks as You’re Not the Only One, Oh, It’s Fantastic and Beastly Beauty. Also included is a cue from the series’ score. david-wingoDavid Wingo has signed on to score the upcoming zombie thriller Maggie . The film is directed by Henry Hobson and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Abigail Breslin and Joely Richardson. The movie centers on a farm family who helps their eldest daughter come to terms with her infection as she slowly becomes a flesh-eating zombie as a virus spreads across the country. John Scott 3 has written the Black List-honored script. The album features the film’s original music written by Academy Award-winning composer Rachel Portman  (The Cider House RulesChocolatEmma). Also included are two songs by Nick Fowler and Mickey Guyton. The soundtrack will be released on March 25, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Right Kind of Wrong  is directed by Jeremiah Chechik who previously worked together with Portman on Benny & Joon and stars Ryan Kwanten, Sara Canning, Will Sasso and Catherine O’Hara. The movie follows a struggling writer who meets the girl of his dreams at her own wedding. The comedy premiered at last year’s Toronto International Film Festival and was picked up by Magnolia Pictures for domestic distribution. The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 18, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check out audio clips after the jump. Jamesy Boy is directed by Trevor White and stars Spencer Lofranco, James Woods, Mary-Louise Parker, Ving Rhames, Taissa Farmiga and Taboo. The movie tells the true story of teenager James Burns who goes from a suburban street gang to a maximum-security prison cell surrounded by hardened criminals. good-will-huntingMusic Box Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1997 drama Good Will Hunting directed by Gus Van Sant and starring Matt Damon, Robin Williams, Ben Affleck and Minnie Driver. The album features the complete score from the film composed by Danny Elfman (Spider-ManBatman) who would later reunite with the director on such films as MilkPsycho, Restless and Promised Land. The composer’s music was previously only commercially released with two tracks on the original soundtrack album. Also featured on the new album are six tracks of indie songwriter Elliott Smith who was Oscar-nominated for the song Miss Misery in the Best Original Song category. Elfman also received an Academy Award nomination for his score and the film won the award for Williams’ supporting actor performance and Damon’s and Affleck’s screenplay.
