The Television Academy has announced a number of rules changes for the 78th & 79th Emmy Awards competition in 2025 & 2026, including an update in the Music – Main Title Theme category for 2026. The new rules state that a “Main Title Theme must appear in 50% or more of eligible episodes submitted for the 2026 Emmy competition. The Main Title Theme has been further defined as a musical fingerprint and calling card that is identifiable and unique to a show, thereby drawing an audience in by setting the show’s tone and what is to come.” Read the rest of this entry »

World Premiere Release of Gil Mellé’s ‘Gold of the Amazon Women’ Score Announced

Dragon’s Domain Records has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1979 television movie Gold of the Amazon Women directed by Mark L. Lester and starring Bo Svenson, Anita Ekberg, Donald Pleasence, Bob Minor and Richard Romanus. The album features the film’s original music composed by Golden Globe nominee Gil Mellé (The Andromeda Strain, Borderline, The Sentinel, Night Gallery, The Organization). The CD, which is limited to 500 copies, is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also listen to audio samples and find out more about the release. The details of the soundtrack album for the Sky original drama M. Son of the Century (M. Il figlio del secolo) have been revealed. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by The Chemical Brothers’ Tom Rowlands (Hanna, Trespass Against Us). Son of the Century is directed by Joe Wright, written by Stefano Bises & Davide Serino based on the best-selling novel by Antonio Scurati and stars Luca Marinelli as Benito Mussolini, as well as Francesco Russo, Barbara Chichiarelli, ederico Majorana, Benedetta Cimatti and Lorenzo Zurzolo. Lee Mendelson Film Productions will release the first-ever soundtrack album for the 1974 animated television special It’s the Easter Beagle, Charlie Brown! created by Charles M. Schulz and directed by Phil Roman. The album features the premiere release of complete score from the twelfth Peanuts special composed by Vince Guaraldi (A Charlie Brown Christmas, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, A Boy Named Charlie Brown). Also included as a bonus track is Woodstock’s Medley performed byDavid Benoit (piano) with original Guaraldi sidemen Seward McCain (bass) and Mike Clark (drums), recorded fifty years later at the same Hyde Street studio where the soundtrack was recorded in San Francisco.
