The Cinema Audio Society has announced the nominees for the 61st Annual CAS Awards for Outstanding Achievement in Sound Mixing. For the past couple of years, scoring mixers have been recognized alongside re-recording, production, ADR and foley mixers. In the Motion Pictures – Live Action category, the scoring mixers honored include Nick Baxter for James Mangold’s A Complete Unknown (on which Baxter also served as the executive music producer), Peter Cobbin for Shawn Levy’s Deadpool vs. Wolverine (music by Rob Simonsen), Alan Meyerson for Denis Villeneuve’s Dune: Part Two (scored by Hans Zimmer) & Gladiator II (scored by Harry Gregson-Williams) and John Michael Caldwell for Jon M. A24 Music has released a new version of the track Perfect Place from the drama Sing Sing. The piece written by the film’s composer (and The National member) Bryce Dessner and performed by pianist Alice Sara Ott is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. New Soundtrack Release for Kelly Reichardt’s ‘Old Joy’ Announced

Mississippi Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 2006 indie drama Old Joy written and directed by Kelly Reichardt and starring Lars Knudsen, Neil Kopp, Anish Savjani and Jay Van Hoy. The 6-track EP features the film’s original score composed by the indie rock band Yo La Tengo (Junebug, Adventureland, Shortbus, Far from the Tree). The soundtrack will be released digitally and (for the first time) on vinyl on February 28. Caldera Records has announced a soundtrack album for Mike Leigh’s drama Hard Truths.
