Hollywood Records has released a soundtrack album for the Spanish Disney+/Hulu original series Return to Las Sabinas (Regreso a Las Sabinas). The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Arnau Bataller (A Perfect Day, The Vault[REC] 4: Apocalypse, The 47, Killer Book ClubPrey, Wake Up, The Chosen). Return to Las Sabinas is created by Eulàlia Carrillo and stars Andrés Velencoso, Celia Freijeiro, Ángela Molina, Natalia Sánchez, Olivia Molina, Miquel Fernández, María Casal and Nancho Novo. The drama follows the Molina sisters after the receive a call that makes them return to their hometown to attend to their father’s health problems and have to face secrets from the past that will change their lives. Trent Reznor & Atticus Ross have received their third Golden Globe in the Original Score category for their score for Luca Guadagnino’s Challengers at tonight’s 82nd Golden Globe Awards ceremony. They previously won the award for their music for The Social Network & Soul and were also nominated for their The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo, Gone Girl and Mank scores. Clint Mansell (Black SwanRequiem for a Dream, The Fountain, Noah, Moon, The Wrestler, Doom Patrol) is the composer of the new ITV limited series Playing Nice. The show is written by Grace Ofori-Attah (Malpractice) based on the best-selling novel by JP Delaney and stars James Norton, Niamh Algar, James McArdle and Jessica Brown Findlay. The 4-part psychological thriller directed by Kate Hewitt follows two couples who discover their toddlers were switched at birth in a hospital mix-up and have to decide on whether they keep the sons they have raised and love or reclaim their biological child. Premiering on Thursday, January 9, is the Netflix limited series American Primeval created by Mark L. Smith, directed by Peter Berg and starring Taylor Kitsch, Betty Gilpin, Shea Whigham,Dane DeHaan, Jai Courtney, Preston Mota, Saura Lightfoot Leon and Joe Tippett.The show’s original music is composed by the post-rock band Explosions in the Sky (Friday Night Lights, Lone Survivor, Manglehorn, Prince Avalanche). Cherry Bang has released a soundtrack EP for the BBC drama special The Split: Barcelona. The 4-track EP features the original songs from the 2-parter written and performed by Olivia Broadfield. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on all major digital music services, including Amazon. Also listen to all four songs after the jump. A CD version will be released in the UK on January 31. The Split: Barcelona is written by Abi Morgan, directed by Giulia Gandini and stars Nicola Walker, Toby Stephens, Manu Fullola and Romina Cocca. The special (scored by Evan Jolly) is set two years after the events from the finale of the original series and follows family lawyer Hannah Defoe attending a wedding at a vineyard, nestled in Catalonia’s wine region with her family, where she is compelled to banish the ghosts of her past and open herself up to the possibility of love again. 2025 BAFTA Awards Original Score Longlist Announced

bafta1The British Academy of Film & Television Arts (BAFTA) today announced the longlists for the EE British Academy Film Awards in 2025. This longlisting round was introduced in 2021, resulting in three rounds of voting. Round One voting produced the longlists in all categories announced today. 118 films were submitted for consideration. Round Two voting, to determine the nominations, is opening today to BAFTA’s voting members and will close on January 12. The nominations for the EE BAFTA Film Awards 2025 will be announced on January 15 and the ceremony will take place on February 16. Read the rest of this entry »
