VHM will release a soundtrack album for the Australian zombie horror thriller Wyrmwood: Road of the Dead. The album features the film’s original music composed by Michael Lira (The Hunter). Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend;
Opening in most theaters is the action comedy Hot Pursuit directed by Anne Fletcher and starring Reese Witherspoon, Sofia Vergara and Michael Mosley. The film’s original music is composed by Christophe Beck (Frozen, Ant-Man, Edge of Tomorrow, The Hangover) who previously collaborated with Fletcher on her last feature The Guilt Trip. No soundtrack album has been announced, but Sony Music has released the original song Two of a Crime by Miranda Lambert from the film. Visit Amazon to download the track. Also opening wide is the comedy The D Train written and directed by Andrew Mogel & Jarrad Paul and starring Jack Black, James Marsden, Kathryn Hahn, Kyle Bornheimer and Adria Tennor. Andrew Dost has composed the film’s original music. Sony Classical will release a soundtrack album for the upcoming drama Southpaw. David Wingo is reteaming with director David Gordon Green on the upcoming political comedy drama Our Brand Is Crisis. The film stars Sandra Bullock. Billy Bob Thornton, Anthony Mackie, Scoot McNairy, Zoe Kazan, Ann Dowd, Reynaldo Pacheco, Dominic Flores, Louis Arcella, Octavio Gomez Berrios and Joaquim de Almeida. The movie is based on the 2005 documentary of the same title and follows a group of American consultants who accept the challenge of getting an unpopular Bolivian president re-elected. Peter Straughan (Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, The Debt, The Men Who Stare at Goats) wrote the screenplay.
