Varese Sarabande has announced the details of the soundtrack album for the comedy drama Calvary. The album features the film’s original music composed by Patrick Cassidy (Kill the Irishman, Salem’s Lot) who recorded his music with the RTÉ Concert Orchestra in Dublin. The soundtrack will be released on May 13, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Calvary is written and directed by John Michael McDonagh (The Guard) and stars Brendan Gleeson, Chris O’Dowd, Kelly Reilly, Aidan Gillen, Dylan Moran, Marie-Josée Croze, Isaach De Bankolé, Pat Shortt, David Wilmot and Domhnall Gleeson. The movie follows a good-natured priest whose world is put into disarray after being threatened during a confession. Christophe Beck and Jake Monaco have composed the score for the upcoming action comedy Let’s Be Cops. The film is directed by Luke Greenfield (The Girl Next Door, Something Borrowed) and stars Damon Wayans Jr., Jake Johnson, Rob Riggle, Nina Dobrev, James D’Arcy and Andy Garcia. The movie follows two struggling pals who dress as police officers for a costume party and get tangled in a real life web of mobsters and dirty detectives. Hans Zimmer to Score ‘Batman vs. Superman’

Hans Zimmer revealed in an interview with Digital Spy that he is set to reunite with Zack Snyder on Batman vs. Superman. The composer who scored last year’s Man of Steel for the director confirmed that he will begin working on the film after finishing his score for Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar. The currently untitled sequel stars Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Diane Lane and Laurence Fishburne who will reprise their characters from Man of Steel. They are joined by Ben Affleck who will portray Batman, Jesse Eisenberg as Lex Luthor, Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman and Jeremy Irons as Alfred Pennyworth. WaterTower Music will release the fourth soundtrack album for the HBO hit series Game of Thrones. The album features selections from the score of the fourth season composed by Ramin Djawadi (Pacific Rim, Iron Man, Clash of the Titans). The soundtrack will be released on July 1, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Check back on this page for the full album details. No word yet on whether Sigur Rós’ version of The Rains of Castamere, which was released as a single yesterday, will be featured on the release. Intrada Records has announced a soundtrack album featuring the world premiere release of the scores for two movies from Paramount Pictures scored by composer Michael Small (Marathon Man, Klute, The Stepford Wives), including the music for the 1984 drama First Born directed by Michael Apted (Goldeneye, The Mask of Zorro) and starring Peter Weller, Christopher Collet and Teri Garr. Also featured is the score for the 1972 thriller Child’s Play directed by Sidney Lumet and starring James Mason, Robert Preston and Beau Bridges. Both scores are composed and conducted by Small. The movie follows a man who has the perfect family and a dream job, but a phone call forces him to make a decision that will put it all on the line. Alex Heffes has signed on to score Stephen Frears’ upcoming currently untitled biopic about Lance Armstrong. The film stars Ben Foster, Lee Pace, Dustin Hoffman, Chris O’Dowd, Guillaume Canet and Jesse Plemons are co-starring. The movie is based on the book Seven Deadly Sins: My Pursuit of Lance Armstrong by David Walsh and chronicles the rise and fall of the pro-cyclist through the 90s and early 2000s. John Hodge (The Beach, Trainspotting) has written the screenplay. Tim Bevan & Eric Fellner (Atonement, Les Miserables, Frost/Nixon) are producing the Working Title and Studiocanal production with Tracey Seaward (Philomena) and Kate Solomon (United 93). ‘Heaven is for Real’ Score Album Details

Madison Gate Records has released a soundtrack album for the drama Heaven is for Real. The album features the film’s original music composed, arranged and conducted by Nick Glennie-Smith who previously collaborated with the movie’s director Randall Wallace on his previous three movies including The Man in the Iron Mask, We Were Soldiers and Secretariat. The composer and directed have also composed the original song You Are Home, which is featured on the album in three different versions. The soundtrack is being released digitally today on iTunes, where you can also check out audio clips. As previously reported, a separate soundtrack featuring songs inspired by the film is already available. Heaven is for Real starring Greg Kinnear, Kelly Reilly, Connor Corum, Margo Martindale and Thomas Haden Church follows a real-life couple whose son claims to have visited Heaven during a near death experience.
