Jeff Russo and Zoe Keating are composing the music for the upcoming A&E original series The Returned starring Mark Pellegrino, Tandi Wright, India Ennenga, Sophie Lowe, Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Jeremy Sisto, Kevin Alejandro, Agnes Bruckner and Sandrine Holt. The show is based on the International Emmy Award-winning French series Les Revenants and focuses on a small town that is turned upside down when several local people, who have been long presumed dead suddenly reappear, bringing with them both positive and detrimental consequences. ‘Star Wars: The Clone Wars’ TV Series Soundtrack Announced

Walt Disney Records will release a soundtrack album for the animated series Star Wars: The Clone Wars. The album features selections from the original score from the show’s seasons 1 through 6 composed by Kevin Kiner (Star Wars Rebels, CSI: Miami, Hell on Wheels). The soundtrack will be released digitally on November 10, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A vinyl version is set to be released on December 6 and is available for pre-order here. Sony Classical has previously released a soundtrack featuring Kiner’s music from the feature version of the series. Dave Grusin’s ‘Falling in Love’ Score to Be Released

Kritzerland has announced the world premiere soundtrack release for the 1984 romantic drama Falling in Love directed by Ulu Grosbard and starring Robert De Niro, Meryl Streep, Harvey Keitel, Jane Kaczmarek, George Martin and Dianne Wiest. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Dave Grusin (The Firm, The Graduate, The Goonies, Three Days of the Condor, Tootsie). The limited edition CD also features several unused and alternate cues, including the composer’s original main title theme, which was not used in the final version of the Paramount Pictures release. Hans Zimmer to Collaborate with Junkie XL on ‘Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice’

Hans Zimmer revealed in an interview with Comic Book Resource that he will be collaborating with Junkie XL on Zack Snyder’s Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice. The composer mentioned that Junkie XL aka Tom Holkenborg will be providing music for the Batman character, while he will take care of Clark Kent/Superman. Zimmer previously scored Snyder’s Man of Steel. Junkie XL composed additional music for Man of Steel and also worked with Snyder on 300: Rise of an Empire. Zimmer had previously expressed hesitation to score another Batman movie when he was first asked about the project given his involvement with Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight trilogy. Batman v Superman starring Henry Cavill, Ben Affleck, Gal Gadot, Amy Adams, Laurence Fishburne, Diane Lane, Jesse Eisenberg, Jeremy Irons and Holly Hunter is set to be released on March 25, 2016 by Warner Bros. Cliff Martinez to Score Nicolas Winding Refn’s ‘The Neon Demon’

Gaumont and Wild Bunch announced today that Cliff Martinez will reunite with director Nicolas Winding Refn on the upcoming horror thriller The Neon Demon. No plot details have been announced yet, but the film is described as a horror tale with a young female-led cast, which will be revealed later this year. Refn and Mary Laws are writing the screenplay. Lene Borglum (Valhalla Rising, Only God Forgives) is producing the project through Refn’s production company Space Rocket. Also on board are editor Matthew Newman (Bronson, Drive) and Academy Award-nominated cinematographer Philippe Le Sourd (The Grandmaster, Seven Pounds, A Good Year). Premiering tonight is the HBO original mini-series Olive Kitteridge directed by Lisa Cholodenko based on Elizabeth Strout’s Pulitzer Price-winning novel of the same title and starring Frances McDormand, Richard Jenkins, Zoe Kazan, Bill Murray, John Gallagher Jr., Jesse Plemons and Brady Corbet. Carter Burwell (Fargo, Twilight, True Grit, Mildred Pierce) who previously scored Cholodenko’s 2010 feature The Kids Are All Right has composed the series’ original music. No word yet on a soundtrack release. The details of the soundtrack albums for Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: The Battle of the Five Armies have been revealed. The albums feature the film’s original music composed by Howard Shore (The Lord of the Rings trilogy, The Silence of the Lambs, Hugo, The Aviator). Also included is the end titles song The Last Goodbye performed by actor Billy Boyd and written by Boyd and screenwriters/producers Phillipa Boyens and Fran Walsh. The soundtrack will be released in two editions: a standard edition, as well as a deluxe edition with additional tracks. Both albums are set to be released on December 16, 2014.
