Christopher Lennertz revealed in a recent interview with Skewed n’ Reviewed that he is set to score the upcoming comedy Michelle Darnell. The film is directed by Ben Falcone (Tammy) and stars Melissa McCarthy, Peter Dinklage, Kristen Bell, Kathy Bates and Timothy Simons. The movie follows a titan of industry, who is sent to prison after she’s caught for insider trading and later emerges ready to rebrand herself as America’s latest sweetheart. McCarthy and Falcone have also written the screenplay with Steve Mallory. The film will be produced by McCarthy and Falcone through their On the Day production company, alongside Will Ferrell, Chris Henchy & Adam McKay (Anchorman, Talladega Nights, The Other Guys) for Gary Sanchez Productions. ‘Desert Dancer’ Soundtrack Announced

Varese Sarabande will release a soundtrack album for the drama Desert Dancer. The album features the film’s original score composed by Benjamin Wallfisch (Dear Wendy, The Escapist, Summer in February), including the music for three extended dance sequences especially created for the movie as a collaboration between Wallfisch and choreographer Akram Khan. The soundtrack will be released on April 7, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Desert Dancer is directed by Richard Raymond and stars Freida Pinto, Reece Ritchie, Tom Cullen, Nazanin Boniadi and Makram J. Khoury. The movie tells the true story of Afshin Ghaffarian who – during the volatile climate of the 2009 presidential election, where many cultural freedoms were threatened – risked her life and formed an underground dance company with her friends. The full details of the soundtrack album for the animated feature The SpongeBob Movie: Sponge Out of Water have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Elf, Iron Man 2, Bruce Almighty). The soundtrack will be released digitally on March 24, 2015 by Varese Sarabande and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. A limited edition CD is set to come out a week later on March 31. Milan Records has released a new soundtrack album for Jon Favreau’s comedy drama Chef. The album features more music from the hit film by artists including The Wild Magnolias, Gary Clark Jr., Freedom Express, El Michels Affaits, Joe Cuba, Willie Colin, Ray Barretto, The Meters & more. Last night, the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers (ASCAP) held its annual Film & Television Music Awards at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Beverly Hills, California. Elliot Goldenthal was honored with the ASCAP Founders Award, which is given to songwriters and composers who have made pioneering contributions to music by inspiring and influencing their fellow music creators. The Academy Award-winning composer was presented the award by director Michael Mann who collaborated with Goldenthal on Heat and Public Enemies. Goldenthal’s partner Julie Taymor who worked with him on Frida, Titus, Across the Universe and various stage productions, as well as Neil Jordan who collaborated with the composer on films including Interview with the Vampire and Michael Collins congratulated the composer via a video message. The show stars Christina Ricci, Clea DuVall, Jonathan Banks, John Heard, Cole Hauser and Jessy Schram. Ricci has previously starred in the title role of the Lifetime original movie Lizzie Borden Took an Ax, which was also scored by Adams. The 8-part series centers on the actual events and people surrounding Lizzie’s life after her controversial acquittal of the double murder of her father and stepmother in 1892.
