Carlo Siliotto has signed on to score the upcoming martial arts epic Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon: The Green Legend. The film is directed by Yuen Wo-Ping (Tai Chi Master) who has served as the martial arts choreographer on The Matrix trilogy and Kill Bill and stars Michelle Yeoh who is reprising her role as Yu Shu-Lien from the original film, as well as Donnie Yen as Silent Wolf. Harry Shum Jr., Jason Scott Lee, Roger Yuan, Eugenia Yuan and Natasha Liu Bordizzo are co-starring. No plot details have been announced yet, but the movie is said to tell a story of “lost love, young love, a legendary sword and one last opportunity at redemption”. The album features the film’s original music composed by Robert Gulya and performed by the Budapest Symphony Orchestra. GSPO to Perform Superhero Soundtracks in Concert

On Saturday, April 18, the Golden State Pops Orchestra (GSPO) will present Superhero Soundtracks. The concert will feature the music from numerous comic book movies, including Marvel’s Iron Man, Captain America, Thor and The Avengers, as well as the themes from Superman, The Dark Knight, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles and X-Men. Special guests to appear at the event include Christopher Lennertz who recently scored the first season of Marvel’s Agent Carter TV series, Craig Safan (The Last Starfighter), Jason Livesay who composed additional music for X-Men: Days of Future Past, as well as surprise guests. Quartet Records has announced a soundtrack album for the French drama Diary of a Chambermaid (Journal d’une femme de chamber). The album features the film’s original music composed by Bruno Coulais (Coraline, The Crimson Rivers, The Chorus). The movie is directed by Benoît Jacquot (Farewell, My Queen) and stars Léa Seydoux and Vincent Lindon. The drama based on the novel by Octave Mirbeau about a scheming servant who works for a wealthy couple in France during the late 19th century premiered at this year’s Berlin Film Festival and will be released in France on April 1. Cohen Media Group has picked up domestic distribution rights. Quartet’s soundtrack also includes Coulais’ music for Jacquot’s drama 3 Hearts starring Benoît Poelvoorde, Charlotte Gainsbourg, Chiara Mastroianni and Catherine Deneuve. Jeff Russo has been tapped to score the upcoming Spike TV original miniseries Tut. The limited series is directed by David Von Ancken (Seraphim Falls, Californication) and stars Avan Jogia, Ben Kingsley, Alexander Siddig, Nonso Anozi, Iddo Goldberg, Peter Gadiot, Sibylla Deen and Kylie Bunbury. The 6-parter tells the story of Tutankhamun, aka King Tut, the youngest Pharaoh to rule Ancient Egypt, whose famous golden sarcophagus has become one of the symbols of the ancient civilization.
