a-dPremiering tonight is the NBC event series A.D. executive produced by Mark Burnett & Roma Downey and starring Juan Pablo di Pace, Vincent Regan, Greta Scacchi, Aniss Elkohen, Richard Coyle, Babou Ceesay, Chipo Chung, Cesare Taurasi and Adam Levy. Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Gladiator, The Lion King) and Lorne Balfe (Home, Penguins of Madagascar) have composed the music for the 12-parter. robert-langdonHans Zimmer is officially set to reteam with director Ron Howard on the upcoming film adaptation of Dan Brown’s bestselling novel Inferno. Tom Hanks returns to reprise his role as Robert Langdon and is joined by Felicity Jones as Dr. Sienna Brooks, Irrfan Khan as Harry Sims, Omar Sy as Christoph Bruder and Sidse Babett Knudsen as Dr. Elizabeth Sinskey. The movie follows the Harvard symbolist as he wakes up in an Italian hospital with amnesia and teams up with a doctor he hopes will help him recover his memories and prevent a madman from releasing a global plague connected to Dante’s immortal tome. David Koepp (Spider-ManJurassic ParkWar of the Worlds) has written the screenplay. the-passion-of-the-christ.jpgLast month, La Pasión Oratorio, inspired by the Oscar-nominated score for The Passion of the Christ composed by John Debney was performed at the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba in Spain as part of Holy Week. 6,000 people attended the concert, which was conducted by Kevin Kaska and performed by Córdoba Orchestra and Choir Ziryab along with performers from the film’s score, including woodwind player Pedro Eustache and vocalist and soloist Lisbeth Scott. The event, which was created through the collaboration between the Diputación of Córdoba through its Department of Culture and the Film Music Festival brand, was the first orchestral concert at the Mosque-Cathedral of Córdoba in over 40 years. No soundtrack album has been announced. Woman in Gold follows an elderly Jewish woman who fled Vienna during WWII and, sixty years later, starts her journey to retrieve family possessions seized by the Nazis, among them Klimt’s painting “The Lady in Gold”. paper-townsSon Lux aka Ryan Lott revealed in an interview with MTV that he is composing the score for the upcoming coming-of-age drama Paper Towns. The movie based on the bestselling novel by John Green (The Fault In Our Stars) is directed by Jake Schreier (Robot & Frank) and stars Nat Wolff, Cara Delevingne, Halston Sage, Austin Abrams, Jaz Sinclair and Justice Smith. Michael H. Weber & Scott Neustadter ((500) Days of Summer, The Spectacular Now) have written the screenplay. happyishNathan Larson is composing the music for the new Showtime original series Happyish. The show is created by Shalom Auslander and stars Steve Coogan, Kathryn Hahn, Bradley Whitford, Sawyer Shipman, Carrie Preston, Molly Price and Andre Royo.  The comedy drama follows a couple who face obsolescence in a youth-obsessed culture where people in their 40s are halfway to dead. Auslander is also executive producing the project with Ken Kwapis (He’s Just Not That Into YouVibesThe Sisterhood of the Traveling Pants) who directed the pilot episode. Larson has previously collaborated with Kwapis on the feature A Walk in the Woods starring Robert Redford, Nick Nolte & Emma Thompson, which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival and was picked up by Broad Green Pictures for a release later this year.  Read the rest of this entry »

The album features the series’ original music written by Emmy Award-winning composer Jeff Beal (House of Cards, Monk, Rome, Carnivale, Ugly Betty). The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 7, 2015. A physical release is planned for later this year. The Dovekeepers is directed by Yves Simoneau and stars Cote de Pablo, Rachel Brosnahan & Kathryn Prescott, Diego Boneta and Sam Neill. The album features the film’s original score composed by Lorne Balfe (Penguins of MadagascarMegamindThe Bible). The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 14, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Sony Classical is distributing the album overseas. Two tracks from the score are embedded after the jump.
