Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the songs from the movie by artists including including The Turtles, The Kinks, The Who, Donovan and The Spencer Davis Group. giacchino-oscarsMichael Giacchino has been elected to the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences’ 2015–16 Board of Governors. He joins Charles Bernstein and Charles Fox who are the other two governors of the branch. It will mark Giacchino’s first term serving on the music branch board. The Academy’s 17 branches are each represented by three governors, who may serve up to three consecutive three-year terms. jessica-jonesSean Callery revealed at the Comic-Con composer panel Behind the Music: Crime, Death and Resurrection that he is scoring Netflix’s upcoming original series Marvel’s Jessica Jones. The show is developed and executive produced by Melissa Rosenberg and stars Krysten Ritter in the title role, alongside Mike Colter, David Tennant, Rachael Taylor, Carrie-Anne Moss, Eka Darville, Erin Moriarty and Wil Traval. The album features selections from the first season of the show’s original music composed by Trevor Rabin (Remember the TitansNational TreasureCon AirArmageddon) and Paul Linford. The soundtrack will be released on July 31, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon12 Monkeys is based on Terry Gilliam’s 1995 movie of the same title and stars Aaron Standford, Amanda Schull, Noah Bean and Kirk Acevedo. The drama centers on a time traveler from the future who appears in present day on a mission to locate and eradicate the source of a deadly plague that will eventually decimate the human race. The series stars Jack Garrett, Gary Sinise, Matt ‘Simms’ Simmons, Daniel Henney, Russ ‘Monty’ Montgomery and Tyler James Williams.
