The film is directed by Andy Goddard (Downton Abbey, Torchwood) and stars Patrick Wilson, Jessica Biel, Haley Bennett and Toby Jones. The movie based on the novel of the same title by Patricia Highsmith (The Talented Mr. Ripley, Strangers on a Train) is set in 1960s New York and follows a successful architect whose with an unsolved murder leads him into a spiral of chaos as he is forced to play cat-and-mouse with a clever killer and an over-ambitious detective. Thomas Newman is composing the music for the upcoming documentary He Named Me Malala. The film is directed by Davis Guggenheim (An Inconvenient Truth, Waiting for Superman) and tells the story of Nobel Peace Prize Laureate Malala Yousafzai, who was targeted by the Taliban and severely wounded by a gunshot when returning home on her school bus in Pakistan’s Swat Valley. The movie also examines how Malala, her father, Zia, and her family are now committed to fighting for education for all girls. Guggenheim is also producing the project with Walter Parkes & Laurie MacDonald (Men in Black, The Ring, Catch Me If You Can, Lemony Snicket’s A Series of Unfortunate Events). Premiering tonight is the new AMC original series Humans created by Jonathan Brackley & Sam Vincent based on the Swedish TV series Real Humans and starring Gemma Chan, Katherine Parkinson, Tom Goodman-Hill, William Hurt, Will Tudor, Rebecca Front and Colin Morgan. The show’s original music is composed by Cristobal Tapia De Veer (Utopia). Humans is set in a parallel present in London where the latest must-have gadget for any busy family is a Synth – a highly developed, artificially intelligent servant eerily similar to its living counterpart. Premiering on Tuesday, June 30 is the MTV original series Scream executive produced by Wes Craven and starring Bella Thorne, Willa Fitzgerald, Amy Forsyth, John Karna, Carlson Young, Amadeus Serafini, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Amadeus Serafini, Connor Weil, Tracy Middendorf and Jason Wiles. The details of the soundtrack album for the sci-fi action comedy Pixels have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Henry Jackman (X-Men: First Class, Captain America: The Winter Soldier, Big Hero 6, Wreck-It-Ralph). The soundtrack will be released on July 24, 2015 by Varese Sarabande and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Pixels is directed by Chris Columbus and stars Adam Sandler, Kevin James, Michelle Monaghan, Peter Dinklage, Josh Gad and Brian Cox. ‘Southpaw’ Music from and Inspired by the Film Soundtrack Details

Shady Records and Interscope Records have announced the details of the soundtrack album for Antoine Fuqua’s boxing drama Southpaw. The album features the songs from and inspired by the film by artists including Eminem, 50 Cent, The Weeknd, The Notorious B.I.G., Slaughterhouse, Denaun, Bad Meets Evil & more. Also included are two tracks from the film’s original score composed by James Horner (Titanic, Avatar). A separate soundtrack album featuring Horner’s full score will be released on Sony Classical. The Music from and Inspired by the Motion Picture soundtrack will be released on July 24, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the comedy sequel Ted 2 directed by Seth MacFarlane and starring Mark Wahlberg, Amanda Seyfried, Morgan Freeman, Jessica Barth and Giovanni Ribisi. The film’s original music is composed by Walter Murphy (American Dad, Family Guy) who also scored 2012’s original movie. Back Lot Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the original song Mean Ol’ Moon performed by Amanda Seyfriend and Norah Jones in two different version and tracks by Ray Charles, Bone Symphony and John Wilson, Maida Vale Singers & Curtis Stigers. Panelists include composers Charles Bernstein (Nightmare on Elm Street), Harry Manfredini (Friday the 13th), Laura Karpman (Carrie), Richard Band (Re-Animator), Tyler Bates (Dawn of the Dead), Maurizio Guarini of Goblin (Suspiria), as well as special guest actor Douglas Tait (Freddy vs. Jason).
