Lakeshore Records will release a second soundtrack album for John Crowley’s critically acclaimed drama Brooklyn. The album features a collection of recordings of Irish classics, including Castle Finn, Zing A Little Zong, Casadh An tSúgáin, My Wild Irish Rose & more. The soundtrack will be digitally on December 4, 2015 and physically on December 18. Visit Amazon to pre-order the CD. As previously reported, the label has also released a separate soundtrack featuring the film’s original score composed by Michael Brook. Brooklyn stars Saoirse Ronan, Domhnall Gleeson, Emory Cohen, Jim Broadbent and Julie Walters. Tom Holkenborg aka Junkie XL is set to compose the music for the upcoming thriller Brimstone. The film is written and directed by Martin Koolhoven (Winter in Wartime) and stars Dakota Fanning, Guy Pearce, Carice van Houten, Paul Anderson, Jack Roth and Carla Juri. The movie follows a heroine on the run from her past who is hunted by a diabolical Preacher. Masterworks/Broadway Records will release a soundtrack album for the NBC television event The Wiz LIVE!. The album features the songs performed by the TV special’s cast, led by Shanice Williams, as well as Queen Latifah (The Wiz), Mary J. Blige (Evillene), David Alan Grier (Cowardly Lion), Ne-Yo (Tin Man), Elijah Kelley (Scarecrow), Uzo Aduba (Glinda), Amber Riley (Addaperle), Common (Bouncer) and Stephanie Mills (Auntie Em). The soundtrack will be released physically on December 18, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. ‘Winter on Fire’ Soundtrack Announced

Lakeshore Records has announced a soundtrack album for the Netflix original documentary Winter on Fire: Ukraine’s Fight for Freedom. The album features the film’s original music composed by Jasha Klebe. The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 11, 2015 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A physical release is set for February 12, 2016. Winter on Fire is directed by Evgeny Afineevsky and covers the unrest in Ukraine over 93 days in 2013 and 2014, as student demonstrations supporting European integration grew into a violent revolution calling for the resignation of President Viktor F. A number of major film composers will be participating at the 6th Annual Fans of Film Music event, which will take place on Sunday, December 6, 2015 at The Bridge Recording Studio in Glendale, CA. This year’s panelists include Harry Gregson-Williams (Shrek, The Chronicles of Narnia, Kingdom of Heaven) who composed the music for this year’s hit sci-fi drama The Martian, Roque Banos (The Machinist, Evil Dead, Oldboy) who scored Ron Howard’s upcoming action adventure In the Heart of the Sea, Tom Holkenborg (Divergent, 300: Rise of an Empire) whose recent credits include Mad Max: Fury Road and Black Mass, as well as Mychael Danna (Life of Pi, Moneyball) and Jeff Danna (The Boondock Saints, Tyrant) who recently co-scored Pixar’s latest feature The Good Dinosaur. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the final installment in The Hunger Games series, Mockingjay: Part 2 directed by Francis Lawrence and stars Jennifer Lawrence, Josh Hutcherson, Liam Hemsworth, Woody Harrelson, Elizabeth Banks, Julianne Moore, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Jeffrey Wright, Sam Claflin and Jena Malone. The film’s original music is composed by James Newton Howard (Maleficent, King Kong, The Sixth Sense, The Village). Republic Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score digitally on Monday and physically the following week. Also opening wide is the comedy The Night Before directed by Jonathan Levine and starring Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Seth Rogen, Anthony Mackie, Lizzy Caplan, Julian Bell, Mindy Kaling and Michael Shannon. Marco Beltrami (Scream, World War Z, 3:10 to Yuma, The Wolverine, Warm Bodies) and Miles Hankins have composed the film’s original score. No soundtrack album has been announced.
