The film marks the filmmaker’s second feature directorial effort and stars Liam James, Sarah Steel, Wendi McLendon-Covey and Austin McKenzie. The movie is based on the off-Broadway play of the same title by Stephen Karam (The Seagull) and follows a misfit trio of high school students who, frustrated by the hypocrisy of their authority figures, revive their school’s long since shut-down speech and debate club. crowdedJesse Novak has written the theme for the upcoming NBC comedy Crowded. Chris Alan Lee is scoring the show, which is created by Suzanne Martin (Hot in Cleveland, The Client List) and stars Patrick Warburton, Carrie Preston, Miranda Cosgrove, Mia Serafino, Stacy Keach and Carlease Burke. The series follows two recent empty-nesters whose plans change when their children and their parents move back home. The album features a collections of songs inspired by the movie by artists including Marc Almond, Andy Bell, Tony Hadley, Holly Johnson, Go West, Kim Wilde, Paul Young, ABC, Nik Kershaw, Howard Jones & more. Also included is the theme from the movie’s original score composed by Matthew Margeson (Kingsman: The Secret Service, Kick-Ass 2, Skyline). The soundtrack is set to be released digitally next month. A CD version is coming out on March 18, 2016 and is available for pre-order on AmazonEddie the Eagle is directed by Dexter Fletcher, produced by Matthew Vaughn and stars Taron Egerton, Christopher Walken, Hugh Jackman, Jo Hartley, Tim McInnerny and Ania Sowinski. ‘Grease LIVE!’ Soundtrack Announced

grease-liveRepublic Records, FOX and Paramount Television have announced a soundtrack album for the TV musical event Grease LIVE!. The album features the songs from the special originally written for the stage musical and the 1979 film by Jim Jacobs and Warren Casey, as well as two original tracks written by Tom Kitt and Brian Yorkey and performed by Carly Rae Jepsen and DNCE and an original track written and performed by DNCE. The soundtrack will be available digitally on Sunday, January 31, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on iTunes. The first song Grease (Is The Word) performed by the live cast and Jessie J is already available to download on Amazon. shepherds-and-butchersPaul Hepker is composing the music for the upcoming drama Shepherds and Butchers. The film is directed by Oliver Schmitz (Life, Above All, Turkish for Beginners) and stars Steve Coogan, Andrea Riseborough, Garion Dowds, Deon Lotz, Robert Hobbs and Eduan van Jaarsveldt. The movie is based on the novel of the same title by Chris Marnewick and follows the case of a prison guard in South Africa who is traumatized by the executions he’s witnessed. Brian Cox has written the screenplay and is also producing the project with Anant Singh (PulsePrey). x-filesPremiering tonight is the revival mini-series of The X-Files created by Chris Carter and starring David Duchovny, Gillian Anderson, Mitch Pileggi, as well as guest stars including Joel McHale, Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose. Mark Snow (MillenniumSmallvilleBlue BloodsGhost Whisperer) who previously scored all episodes of the original series, as well as the two movie adaptations, returns as the composer of the 6-part series. The soundtrack will be released digitally on January 29, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. A CD version is also being released by Quartet Records. Chocolat is directed by actor Roschdy Zem and stars Omar Sy, James Thierree and Clothilde Hesme. The movie tells the life story of Padilla aka Chocolat, who became the first black artist to appear on a French stage in the 19th century and centers around his lifelong friendship with a white artist nicknamed Footit. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

dirty-grandpaOpening in most theaters is the comedy Dirty Grandpa directed by Dan Mazer and starring Robert De Niro, Zac Efron, Aubrey Plaza, Zoey Deutch, Julianne Hough, Jason Mantzoukas, Danny Glover, Adam Pally and Dermot Mulroney. The film’s original score is composed by Michael Andrews (Neighbors, Bridesmaids, Freaks and Geeks, Daddy’s Home). No soundtrack album has been released (a release was originally scheduled by Varese Sarabande). Dirty Grandpa follows an uptight groom who, days before his wedding, is tricked into driving his vulgar former Army general to Florida for spring break.
