Gaumont will release a soundtrack album for the French romantic comedy Up for Love (Un homme à la hauteur). The album features the songs from the film by artists including Emilie Gassin, Donna Summer, Antony and the Johnsons, George Fitzgerald, Shake Shake Go and Rebecca Ferguson. Also included are two tracks from the movie’s original score composed by Eric Neveux (Intimacy, The Attack, Hideaways, Nicholas on Holiday). The soundtrack will be released digitally on April 29, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio clips. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is Disney’s new film adaptation of The Jungle Book directed by Jon Favreau and starring Bill Murray, Ben Kingsley, Idris Elba, Lupita Nyongo’o, Scarlett Johansson, Giancarlo Esposito, Neel Sethi and Christopher Walken. The film’s original music is composed by John Debney (The Passion of the Christ, Elf, Iron Man 2). Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as the songs from the movie. Click here for the full album details. Also opening wide is the action thriller Criminal directed by Ariel Vromen and starring Kevin Costner, Gary Oldman, Tommy Lee Jones, Alice Eve, Ryan Reynolds and Gal Gadot. Brian Tyler (Avengers: Age of Ultron, Iron Man 3, Furious 7) and Keith Power (Hawaii Five-0) have composed the film’s original music. Harry Gregson-Williams is set to compose the music for the upcoming drama The Zookeeper’s Wife. The film is directed by Niki Caro (Whale Rider, North Country, McFarland, USA) and stars Jessica Chastain, Daniel Bruhl, Johan Heldenbergh, Michael McElhatton and Anna Rust. The movie is based on Diane Ackerman’s novel of the same title and tells the true story of Antonina Żabińska and her husband Dr. Jan Zabinski, the director of the Warsaw Zoo, who together used the zoo to help about 300 Jewish people escape from the Warsaw Ghetto after the Germans invaded Poland in September 1939. Angela Workman (Snow Flower and the Secret Fan) has written the screenplay. Jeff Abberley, Jamie Patricof (The Place Beyond the Pines, Blue Valentine) and Kim Zubick are producing the project. Sony Classical will release a score album for the comedy sequel Barbershop: The Next Cut. The album features the film’s original music composed by Stanley Clarke (Passenger 57, The Transporter, Boyz n the Hood, The Best Man Holiday, Undercover Brother). The soundtrack will be released on May 6, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. As previously reported, Atlantic Records has released a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie. Barbershop: The Next Cut is directed by Malcolm D. The Essentials: Best of Season 1 soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, April 15 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Aaron Zigman is reuniting with director David E. Talbert on the upcoming comedy Almost Christmas. The film is written and directed by Talbert and stars Gabrielle Union, Danny Glover, Mo’Nique, Kimberly Elise, Omar Epps, Romany Malco and Jessie T. Usher. The movie follows an estranged family forced to come together for their first Christmas since the death of the family matriarch. Will Packer (Ride Along, Think Like a Man, The Wedding Ringer, Obsessed) is producing the project through his production company. Ben Decter has signed on to compose the music for the upcoming Hulu original series Shut Eye. The show is created by Les Bohem and stars Jeffrey Donovan, KaDee Strickland, Isabella Rosselini, David Zayas, Susan Misner and Emmanuelle Chriqui. The drama is set in the world of storefront psychics in Los Angeles and centers on a disgruntled former player in the world who begins to experience visions. Bohem is also executive producing the TriStar Television production with Mark Johnson (Rain Man, The Chronicles of Narnia, The Notebook) and Melissa Bernstein (Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul).
