The album features selections of the show’s original score composed by Vicente Ortiz Gimeno (The Tribe). Also included is the song Para Papa performed by Tanya Farad (portrayed by Amparo Piñero). Universal Pictures and Syncopy today announced Oppenheimer: Live in Concert, a live-to-film concert experience featuring a 53-piece orchestra under the direction of the film’s Academy Award-winning composer Ludwig Göransson (Black Panther, The Mandalorian, Tenet, Creed, Turning Red), conducted by Anthony Parnther. The event will take place on Wednesday, January 10, 2024, at Royce Hall, on the Westwood campus of UCLA in Los Angeles and will include a special introduction by Oppenheimer writer/director/producer Christopher Nolan. The full details of the soundtrack album for The Color Purple have been revealed. The album features the songs from film, including new version of tracks originally written by Brenda Russell, Allee Willis & Stephen Bray for the 2015 stage musical of the same title, as well as the original songs Keep It Movin’ co-written (with Denisia Andrews, Brittany Coney & Morten Ristorp) and performed by Halle (with Phylicia Pearl Mpasi) and the end credits song Superpower written and produced by The-Dream and performed by Fantasia. An “extended” version of the soundtrack also features numerous songs inspired by the movie by artists such as Alicia Keys, Usher, Mary J. Blige, H.E.R., Megan Thee Stallion, Jennifer Hudson & others.
