XO Records & Republic Records will release a soundtrack album for the musical psychological thriller Hurry Up Tomorrow. The album features the film’s original score composed by Abel Tesfaye (aka The Weeknd) and Daniel Lopatin (aka Oneohtrix Point Never) (Uncut Gems, Good Time, The Bling Ring, The Mountain), including collaborations with Anitta, Playboi Carti and Lana Del Rey. Hurry Up Tomorrow is co-written and directed by Trey Edward Shults and stars Tesfaye himself, Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan. Daniel Lopatin (aka Oneohtrix Point Never) (Uncut Gems, Good Time, The Bling Ring) is teaming up with Abel “The Weeknd” Tesfaye to score the next, currently untitled feature directed by Trey Edward Shults (Waves, It Comes at Night, Krisha). The film is co-written by Shults, Tesfaye & Reza Fahim (The Idol) and stars The Weeknd himself, Jenna Ortega and Barry Keoghan. No plot details have been announced yet. The Weeknd and Fahim are also producing the project with Kevin Turen (Euphoria, The Unbearable Weight of Massive Talent) and Harrison Kreiss (X, Pearl).

The movie follows two young couples as they navigate the emotional minefield of growing up and falling in love. It is being described as a “dramatic musical” and will also feature contemporary songs.

Brian McOmber is reuniting with director Trey Edward Shults on the upcoming horror thriller It Comes at Night. The film is written and directed by Shults and stars Joel Edgerton, Riley Keough, Christopher Abbott, Carmen Ejogo and Kelvin Harrion Jr. The movie follows a man protecting his wife and son from a mysterious presence terrorizing them right outside their doorstep. David Kaplan (It Follows) is producing the project. McOmber has previously scored Shult’ feature directorial debut Krisha.
