Gato Blanco will release a soundtrack album for the animated comedy Nerdland. The album features the film’s original music composed by the synth pop band Night Club (Moonbeam City). Also included are the songs from the movie by Hard Place, Dee Luxxx & more. The soundtrack will be released digitally on December 6, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. Nerdland is directed by Chris Prynoski and features the voices of Paul Rudd, Patton Oswalt, Hannibal Buress, Mike Judge, Riki Lindhome, Kate Micucci and Reid Scott. WaterTower Music will release a soundtrack album for the drama Collateral Beauty. The album features the film’s original music composed by Theodore Shapiro (Tropic Thunder, The Devil Wears Prada, Ghostbusters, Marley & Me, St. Vincent). Also included is a new mix of One Direction’s song Let’s Hurt Tonight as featured in the movie during the end credits. Columbia Records will release a score album for the drama Hidden Figures. The album features the film’s original score composed by Hans Zimmer (The Dark Knight, Gladiator, Inception, The Lion King), Pharrell Williams and Benjamin Wallfisch (Lights Out, A Cure for Wellness, The Escapist). The soundtrack is set to be released physically and digitally on January 6, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. As previously reported, a separate soundtrack featuring the film’s original songs will be released next week. Hidden Figures directed by Theodore Melfi and starring Taraji P. David Wingo revealed in a recent interview with GoSeeTalk.com that he is currently co-scoring the upcoming indie drama State Like Sleep with Jeff McIlwain. The film is written and directed by Meredith Danluck and stars Katherine Waterston, Michael Shannon, Luke Evans and Mark O’Brien. The movie revolves around a woman whose celebrity husband commits suicide and starts to discover his double life and to struggle with the truth to unanswered questions. The album features the film’s original music composed and performed by Olivier Mellano. The Girl Without Hands is written and directed by Sébastien Laudenbach based on a story by the Brothers Grimm. The movie is set in hard times, with a miller selling his daughter to the Devil. Protected by her purity, she escapes but is deprived of her hands. The animated film premiered at this year’s Cannes Film Festival and will be released in France on December 16. Lin-Manuel Miranda to Compose Music & Write Songs for ‘The Kingkiller Chronicle’ Film & TV Adaptations

Lionsgate announced today that Lin-Manuel Miranda will serve as a creative producer and musical mastermind on the feature film and television series adaptations of Pat Rothfuss’ best-selling franchise book trilogy The Kingkiller Chronicle. He is expected to compose the original music and write the songs for both projects. The studio is simultaneously developing and producing the feature film franchise and a TV drama series that expands on the world outside of the books. Lindsey Beer (Transformers: The Last Knight) is currently writing the screenplay for the first movie based on the first book, The Name of the Wind. Netflix’s ‘Trollhunters’ to Feature Music by Alexandre Desplat & Tim Davies

Alexandre Desplat has written the main titles music, as well as the main character’s theme for DreamWorks Animation’s upcoming Netflix original series Trollhunters. The show’s score is composed by Tim Davies. Both composers received an Annie Award nomination for their work yesterday. The series is created by Guillermo del Toro and features the voices of Anton Yelchin, Kelsey Grammer, Ron Perlman, Charlie Saxton, Steven Yeun, Jonathan Hyde, Lexi Medrano, Amy Landecker and Fred Tatasciore. The show follows a 15-year old teenager who stumbles upon a Magical Amulet that gives him the title of Trollhunter, defender of the trolls that live below the human town of Arcadia.
