The performers of this year’s nominated songs at the 90th Oscars ceremony have been announced today by show producers Michael De Luca and Jennifer Todd. Gael Garcia Bernal, Natalie LaFourcade and Miguel will perform Remember Me from Pixar’s Coco written by Kristen Anderson-Lopez & Robert Lopez. Bernal provided the voice of the main character in the film and Miguel & LaFourcade recorded the end credits version of the song. Mary J. Blige will perform Might River from Dee Rees’ Mudbound, which she co-wrote with Raphael Saadiq and Taura Stinson.

The full details of the soundtrack album for the period drama Mudbound have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Tamar-Kali. Also included is the original song Mighty River performed by Mary J. Blige and co-written by the singer/songwriter, Raphael Saadiq & Taura Stinson. Epic Records has announced a soundtrack album for the comedy sequel Think Like a Man Too. The album features the songs from and inspired by the film by Mary J. Blige, including the end credits song Vegas Night feat. The-Dream and the song See That Boy Again, on which she collaborated with Pharrell Williams. The soundtrack will be released on June 17, 2014 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Think Like a Man Too is directed by Tim Story and stars Kevin Hart, Regina Hall, Taraji P. Henson, La La Anthony, Michael Ealy, Jerry Ferrara, Gabrielle Union, Meagan Good, Terrence J, Jenifer Lewis, Romany Malco, Gary Owen, Adam Brody, Wendi McLendon-Covey and David Walton. The sequel follows the couples on a trip to wedding in Las Vegas, but plans for a romantic weekend go awry when their various misadventures get them into some compromising situations that threaten to derail the big event. Geffen/Interscope Records has announced the details for the soundtrack release of the upcoming drama The Help. The album features the original song The Living Proof written and performed by Mary J. Blige, as well as a number of period songs from artists including Johnny Cash and June Carter, Dorothy Norwood, Bo Diddley, Ray Charles, The Orlons, Bob Dylan, Mavis Staples, Bob Dylan and Chubby Checker. Thomas Newman to Score ‘The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel’
Thomas Newman is currently scoring the comedy The Best Exotic Marigold Hotel. The film starring Judi Dench, Maggie Smith, Bill Nighy, Dev Patel and Tom Wilkinson follows a group of British retirees who decide to “outsource” their retirement to less expensive and seemingly exotic India. Enticed by advertisements for the newly restored Marigold Hotel and bolstered with visions of a life of leisure, they arrive to find the palace a shell of its former self. The movie is directed by John Madden (Shakespeare in Love) who has worked with Newman on his last movie The Debt, which will be released in the US later this summer. The Best Exotic Marigold is based on the book These Foolish Things by Deborah Moggach and adapted for the screen by Ol Parker (Imagine Me & You). Graham Broadbent and Peter Czernin (In Bruges) are producing.
