Walt Disney Records will release the official soundtrack album for the live action feature adaptation of Beauty and the Beast. The album features the songs from the film composed by Alan Menken (Aladdin, Enchanted, Tangled, The Little Mermaid) and featuring lyrics by Howard Ashman and Tim Rice. Also included on the release is Menken’s original score, which was arranged by Christopher Benstead. The soundtrack will be released in various versions and formats on March 17, 2017. Joseph Trapanese is reteaming with director Joseph Kosinski on the upcoming action drama Granite Mountain. The film’s cast includes Miles Teller, Josh Brolin, Jeff Bridges, Ben Hardy, Jennifer Connelly, Taylor Kitsch, Andie MacDowell, Natalie Hall, James Badge Dale and Scott Haze. The movie tells the true story of the elite crew of men who battled a wildfire in Prescott, Arizona in June 2013 that claimed the lives of 19 of their members. Warner Music will release a soundtrack album for the Paolo Sorrentino’s series The Young Pope. The album features selections from the show’s original music composed by Lele Marchitelli (The Great Beauty). Also included are tracks by Jeff Buckley, Max Richter, John Adams, Bela Bartok, Antonello Venditti, Jefferson Airplane, Domenico Modugno & more as featured in the drama. Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for the fantasy epic The Great Wall. The album fetters the film’s original music composed by Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Westworld, Iron Man, Pacific Rim, Clash of the Titans). Premiering on Wednesday, December 7, is the NBC television event Hairspray LIVE! based on the Broadway musical and starring Maddie Baillio, Dove Cameron, Kristin Chenoweth, Harvey Fierstein, Ariana Grande, Garrett Clayton, Derek Hough, Jennifer Hudson, Martin Short, Ephraim Sykes and Shahadi Wright Joseph. Sony Masterworks has released a soundtrack album featuring the special’s song written by Marc Shaiman (A Few Good Men, The Bucket List) and Scott Wittman (Smash, Charlie and the Chocolate Factory) and performed by the cast. WaterTower Music will release a full soundtrack album for the HBO original series Westworld. The album features the music from the show’s first season composed by Ramin Djawadi (Game of Thrones, Pacific Rim, Iron Man, Clash of the Titans, Warcraft). The soundtrack, which has a run time of 109 minutes, will be released digitally this coming Monday, December 5 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. The label has previously released an EP featuring five selections from the soundtrack. Two movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the supernatural thriller Incarnate directed by Brad Peyton and starring Aaron Eckhart, Carice van Houten, Catalina Sandino Moreno and David Mazouz. The film’s original music is composed by Andrew Lockington (San Andreas, Journey to the Center of the Earth, Journey 2: The Mysterious Island). No soundtrack album has been announced. The Jason Blum-produced movie revolves around an unconventional exorcist who taps into the subconscious of a nine-year old boy who is possessed by a powerful, ancient demon. The thriller is being released by High Top Releasing/BH Tilt.
Also opening wide is the faith-based drama Believe written and directed by Billy Dickson and starring Ryan O’Quinn, Shawnee Smith, Danielle Nicolet, Kevin Sizemore, David DeLuise and Isaac Ryan Brown. Michael Reola (Melissa & Joey) has composed the film’s original score. No word on a soundtrack album. The movie follows a small-town business owner who tries to save the local Christmas pageant against all odds. The drama is being distributed by Freestyle Releasing.
