The full details of the soundtrack album for the action thriller American Assassin have been revealed. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Steven Price (Gravity, Suicide Squad, Fury, Baby Driver, The World’s End). The soundtrack will be released on September 15, 2017 by Varese Sarabande and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. American Assassin is directed by Michael Cuesta and stars Dylan O’Brien, Michael Keaton, Sanaa Lathan, Taylor Kitsch, Shiva Negar and Scott Adkins. The movie is based on Vince Flynn’s novel of the same name and follows Mitch Rapp, a CIA black ops recruit and Cold War veteran Stan Hurley who are enlisted to investigate a wave of apparently random attacks on both military and civilian targets. ABC Australia has released a soundtrack album for the documentary Mountain. The album features the film’s original music composed by the film’s musical director Richard Tognetti, as well as works by Chopin, Grieg, Vivaldi and Beethoven & more recorded for the movie and performed by the Australian Chamber Orchestra. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio clips. Mountain is directed by Jennifer Peedom (Sherpa) and co-written by Robert Macfarlane. Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the fantasy adventure The Dark Tower directed by Nikolaj Arcel and staring Idris Elba, Matthew McConaughey, Tom Taylor, Claudia Kim, Fran Kranz, Abbey Lee and Jackie Earle Haley. The film’s original music is composed by Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL) (Mad Max: Fury Road, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Black Mass). Also opening wide is the action thriller Kidnap directed by Luis Prieto and starring Halle Berry. Federico Jusid (The Secret in Their Eyes, Misconduct, Black Butterfly, The Hunter’s Prayer) has composed the film’s original music. A soundtrack album is in the works. Julian Wass has been tapped to score the upcoming indie drama The Miseducation of Cameron Post. The film is directed by Desiree Akhavan (Appropriate Behavior) and stars Chloe Grace Moretz, Sasha Lane, John Gallagher Jr., Forrest Goodluck and Jennifer Ehle. The movie is based on the young adult novel by Emily Danforth and tells the story of a young girl in the 1990s who is forced into a gay-conversion therapy center after she is outed and caught with her best friend. Daniel Licht (1957 – 2017)

Daniel Licht has passed away at age 60 following a battle of cancer. The composer was best known for scoring all eight seasons of the Showtime hit series Dexter. He also composed the music for such features as Children of the Corn II & III, Hellraiser: Bloodline, Thinner, Bad Moon and Soul Survivors, as well as TV shows including Body of Proof, Kitchen Confidential and The Red Road. Lakeshore Records has announced a soundtrack album for the Polish horror musical The Lure. The album features the original songs from the movie written by Barbara & Zuzanna Wrońska (of the Polish Indie Band Ballady i Romanse). The soundtrack will be released digitally on August 18, 2017. The Lure is directed by Agnieszka Smoczynska and stars Marta Mazurek, Michalina Olszanska, Jakub Gierszal, Kinga Preis, Andrzej Konopka and Zygmunt Malanowicz. The movie follows a pair of carnivorous mermaid sisters who are drawn ashore in an alternate ’80s Poland to explore the wonders and temptations of life on land.
