The show is created by Jonathan Abrahams (Mad Men, Murder in the First) and stars Josh Henderson, Christine Evangelista, Lexa Doig and Michael Vartan. The drama revolves around a television actress who is offered a $10 million marriage contract with Hollywood’s biggest star. Abrahams is also executive producing the Universal Cable production with Jimmy Fox (Mob Wives) for Main Event Media, Layla Smith & Gregory Lipstone (Undercover Boss) for All3Media America and director Jonas Pate (Aquarius). Premiering on Wednesday, February 1, is the BET original mini-series Madiba directed by Kevin Hooks and starring Laurence Fishburne, Orlando Jones, David Harewood, Michael Nyqvist and Terry Pheto. The show’s original music is composed by Todor Kobakov (The Samaritan, Born to Be Blue, Closet Monster, Bitten). Rolfe Kent is reteaming with director Nicolas Bary on the upcoming French/Belgian family comedy Le petit Spirou. The film starring Sacha Pinaud, François Damiens, Pierre Richard, Natacha Régnier, Philippe Katerine and Laure Hennequart s based on the popular Belgian comic book series created by Philippe Tome & Janry. Bary also co-wrote the screenplay with Laurent Turner (The Odyssey, Team Spirit) and is producing the project with Jean Cottin (La ligne droite, Turning Tide) and Nathanaël La Combe. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the sci-fi action sequel Resident Evil: The Final Chapter written and directed by Paul W.S. Anderson and starring Milla Jovovich, Ali Larter, Iain Glen, Shawn Roberts, Ruby Rose, Eoin Macken, William Levy, Fraser James and Rola. The film’s original music is composed by Paul Haslinger (Underworld, Halt and Catch Fire, The Three Musketeers, Fear the Walking Dead). Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the crime drama Stray Bullets. The album features the film’s original music composed by the movie’s director, Jack Fessenden. The album features the film’s original music composed by British singer/songwriter Paul Weller who is best known as the former frontman of the bands The Jam and The Style Council.
