The film is written and directed by Jared Moshé (Dead Men’s Burden) and stars Bill Pullman, Kathy Baker, Jim Caviezel, Tommy Flanagan, Peter Fonda, Joe Anderson, Diego Josef, Michael Spears, Lewis Pullman and Joseph Anderson. The movie is set in 1889 after Congress declared the frontier closed and follows a 63 year old sidekick who confronts the ugly realities of frontier justice. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

great-wallOpening in most theaters is the fantasy epic The Great Wall directed by Zhang Yimou and starring Matt Damon, Jing Tian, Pedro Pascal, Willem Dafoe, Hanyu Zhang, Eddie Peng, Lu Han, Kenny Lin, Junkai Wang and Zheng Kai. The film’s original music is composed by Ramin Djawadi (Game of ThronesWestworldIron ManPacific Rim). Milan Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. rupert-gregson-williamsProducer Timothy Haas announced today that Rupert Gregson-Williams is in talks to score the upcoming drama Legacy of Fire. The film is directed by Stuart Orme (ColditzThe Puppet MastersThe Lost World) and is set to star Malcolm McDowell as German composer Richard Strauss. The movie centers on the battle to save his Jewish daughter-in-law Alice during the Nazi period. Haas also wrote the screenplay (with additional material from Wendy Oberman) and is producing the project with Philip Waley for Haas Silver Levene Film Studios, alongside Bernie Stampfer, Markus R. guild-of-music-supervisorsThe 7th Guild of Music Supervisors Awards were handed out on Thursday night at Ace Hotel in Downtown Los Angeles. Steven Gizicki received the top honor in the Best Music Supervision in Motion Picture – Motion Picture Over 25M for his work on Damien Chazelle’s La La Land. He also received an award for the song City of Stars from the musical in the Best Song/Recording Created for a Film category, which he shared with the film’s composer/songwriter Justin Hurwitz. The song previously won the Golden Globe and is also up for an Academy Award. Chris Douridas received the award in the Motion Picture Under 25M category for his music supervision on Matt Ross’ Captain Fantastic starring Viggo Mortensen. Howard Paar was honored in the Motion Picture Under 10M category for his music supervision on the indie dramedy 20th Century Women and Joel C. clawsJeff Rona is composing the score for the upcoming TNT original series Claws. The show is created by Eliot Laurence (Welcome to Me) and stars Niecy Nash, Carrie Preston, Harold Perrineau, Jenn Lyon, Judy Reyes, Jack Kesy, Karrueche Tran, Kevin Rankin and Jason Antoon. The comedy drama chronicles the rise of five diverse and treacherous manicurists working at the Nail Artisan of Manatee County salon in South Florida. Rashida Jones & Will McCormack (Celeste & Jesse Forever) are executive producing the project for La Train Train, alongside showrunner Janine Sherman Barrois (Criminal Minds, ER). The film is directed by Eli Roth (Cabin FeverHostelThe Green Inferno) and stars Bruce Willis, Mike Epps, Vincent D’Onofrio, Dean Norris, Kimberly Elise, Elisabeth Shue and Camila Morrone. The movie is a remake of the 1974 feature starring Charles Bronson & and the 1972 novel of the same title by Brian Garfileld and follows a mild-mannered father who is transformed into a killing machine after his family is torn apart by a violent act. The film starring Jake Johnson, Aislinn Derbez, Joe Lo Truglio and Keegan-Michael Key revolves around a small time gambler who agrees to watch a duffel bag for an acquaintance who is heading to prison and discovers cash in the bag. Swanberg and Johnson also co-wrote the screenplay and are producing the project with Alex Orr (Easy).
