Christophe Beck has composed the music for Pixar Animation Studios’ upcoming animated short Lou. The film marks the directorial debut of Dave Mullins who worked as an animator on projects including Monsters Inc., Finding Nemo, The Incredibles, Ratatouille, Up and Cars 2. The movie revolves around a lost-and-found box and the unseen monster within. Dana Murray is producing the short and Pete Docter (Up, Inside Out) & John Lasseter (Toy Story) serve as executive producers. The project marks Beck’s first project for Pixar. David Newman has recently recorded his score for the upcoming comedy Girls Trip. The film is directed by Malcolm D. Lee (The Best Man, The Best Man Holiday, Undercover Brother) and stars Regina Hall, Jada Pinkett Smith, Tiffany Haddish, Larenz Tate, Kate Walsh, Mike Colter and Queen Latifah. The movie follows four lifelong friends as they travel to New Orleans for the annual Essence Festival. Kenya Barris & Tracy Oliver (Barbershop: The Next Cut) wrote the screenplay. The album features selections from the project’s original music composed by Gary Lionelli (Last Days in Vietnam, Luck).
