Mark Isham is scoring the upcoming documentary Let It Fall: Los Angeles 1982-1992. The film is written and directed by John Ridley (12 Years a Slave, Shame) and explores the city-wide violence that began April 29, 1992, when the verdict was announced in the Rodney King case. The movie delves beyond the conflict between law enforcement and the black community to look at tensions across the city as a whole. Ridley is also producing the project. ‘The Devil’s Candy’ Score Album Released

Death Waltz Recording Co. has released a score album for the horror thriller The Devil’s Candy. The album features the film’s original music composed by Michael Yezerski (The Little Death, Mental, Only the Dead See the End of the War, We Don’t Belong Here). The soundtrack is now available to download on Bandcamp, where you can also check out audio samples. A vinyl release is set for May. As previously reported, J-2 Music has released a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie. The Devil’s Candy is written and directed by Sean Byrne and stars Ethan Embry, Shiri Appleby, Pruitt Taylor Vince and Kiara Glasco. Jeff Rona is set to reteam with director Todd Robinson on the upcoming political drama The Last Full Measure. The film is written and directed by Robinson and stars Samuel L. Jackson, Sebastian Stan, Christopher Plummer, William Hurt, Bradley Whitford, Michael Imperioli and Linus Roache. The movie follows a Pentagon investigator who reluctantly teams with veterans of the 1966 Operation Abilene to convince Congress to award the Medal of Honor to a courageous Air Force medic who is seen saving the lives of over 60 Marines ambushed during the Vietnam War. A soundtrack album will be released for the French dramatic comedy The Midwife (Sage femme). The album features the film’s original music composed by Gregoire Hetzel (Incendies, The Tree, My Golden Days, Daguerrotype, Summertime) and performed by the London Chamber Orchestra. The soundtrack will be released digitally overseas on March 22, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The Midwife is written and directed by Martin Provost and stars Catherine Deneuve, Catherine Frot, Olivier Gourmet, Quentin Dolmaire and Mylène Demongeot. The movie revolves around a midwife who gets unexpected news from her father’s old mistress. Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is Disney’s live action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast directed by Bill Condon and starring Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ian McKellen, Audra McDonald and Emma Thompson. The film’s original music is composed by Alan Menken (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin). He also wrote the movie’s classic songs with Howard Ashman and the new songs with lyricist Tim Rice. Also opening wide is the horror thriller The Belko Experiment directed by Greg McLean, written and produced by James Gunn and starring Tony Goldwyn, John Gallagher Jr., Adria Arjona, Michael Rooker, John C McGinley, Sean Gunn and Melonie Diaz. Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy, 300, Watchmen, Dawn of the Dead) has composed the film’s original score. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as two songs performed by Jose Prieto and Gabriela Teran. ‘Ghost in the Shell’ to Feature Music by Lorne Balfe

Lorne Balfe has composed original music for the upcoming film adaptation of Ghost in the Shell. He is credited as the film’s composer alongside Clint Mansell who was previously announced as the movie’s composer. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album featuring the film’s score later this month. The sci-fi adventure is directed by Rupert Sanders and stars Scarlett Johansson, Pilou Asbaek, Takeshi Kitano, Juliette Binoche and Michael Pitt.
