Adrian Johnston has been tapped to score the upcoming BBC limited series Cormoran Strike. The show is based J.K. Rowling’s bestselling crime novels, which she wrote under the pseudonym Robert Galbraith, and stars Tom Burke and Holliday Grainger. The drama centers on a war veteran turned private detective operating out of a tiny office in London’s Denmark Street. The series comprises of The Cuckoo’s Calling, with three hour-long episodes and The Silkworm and Career of Evil, both with two hour-long episodes. Rowling is also executive producing the project with Neil Blair (Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them), Ruth Kenley-Letts and Elizabeth Kilgarriff (Poldark, Call the Midwife). Filmtrax will release a soundtrack album for the drama Aftermath. The album features the film’s original music composed by Mark Todd (Nightingale, Keith Lemon: The Film). Aftermath is directed by Elliott Lester and stars Arnold Schwarzenegger, Scoot McNairy, Maggie Grace, Kevin Zegers, Hannah Ware and Martin Donovan. Mark Isham is scoring the upcoming documentary Let It Fall: Los Angeles 1982-1992. The film is written and directed by John Ridley (12 Years a Slave, Shame) and explores the city-wide violence that began April 29, 1992, when the verdict was announced in the Rodney King case. The movie delves beyond the conflict between law enforcement and the black community to look at tensions across the city as a whole. Ridley is also producing the project. ‘The Devil’s Candy’ Score Album Released

Death Waltz Recording Co. has released a score album for the horror thriller The Devil’s Candy. The album features the film’s original music composed by Michael Yezerski (The Little Death, Mental, Only the Dead See the End of the War, We Don’t Belong Here). The soundtrack is now available to download on Bandcamp, where you can also check out audio samples. A vinyl release is set for May. As previously reported, J-2 Music has released a separate soundtrack featuring the songs from the movie. The Devil’s Candy is written and directed by Sean Byrne and stars Ethan Embry, Shiri Appleby, Pruitt Taylor Vince and Kiara Glasco. Two new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is Disney’s live action adaptation of Beauty and the Beast directed by Bill Condon and starring Emma Watson, Dan Stevens, Luke Evans, Kevin Kline, Josh Gad, Ewan McGregor, Stanley Tucci, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, Ian McKellen, Audra McDonald and Emma Thompson. The film’s original music is composed by Alan Menken (The Little Mermaid, Aladdin). He also wrote the movie’s classic songs with Howard Ashman and the new songs with lyricist Tim Rice. Walt Disney Records has released a soundtrack album in two different editions. Click here for the details of both the regular and deluxe edition.
Also opening wide is the horror thriller The Belko Experiment directed by Greg McLean, written and produced by James Gunn and starring Tony Goldwyn, John Gallagher Jr., Adria Arjona, Michael Rooker, John C McGinley, Sean Gunn and Melonie Diaz. Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy, 300, Watchmen, Dawn of the Dead) has composed the film’s original score. Lakeshore Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as two songs performed by Jose Prieto and Gabriela Teran.
