Premiering tonight is the Epix original series Get Shorty created by Davey Holmes and starring Chris O’Dowd, Ray Romano, Sean Bridgers, Megan Stevenson, Goya Robles, Lucy Walters, Sarah Stiles, Antwone Tanner and Carolyn Dodd. The show’s original music composed by Golden Globe and Grammy Award winner Antonio Sanchez (Birdman) who makes his television scoring debut on the project. Ceiri Torjussen is scoring the upcoming documentary Pistorius. The film is directed by Vaughan Sivell (Prevenge, Third Star) and follows the rise and fall of Oscar Pistorius, the inspiring, Olympic hero turned convicted murderer who made history by becoming the first double-amputee sprinter to compete in the Olympics. Sivell is also producing the project with Sean Richard for Western Edge Pictures, and the Gennaker Group. Torjussen previously scored Sivell’s directorial debut, Mr Calzaghe, as well as the feature The Canal, which Sivell co-produced.
Dwayne Wayans is the composer of the new NBC comedy Marlon. The show is created by Christopher Moynihan & Marlon Wayans who also stars in the series with Essence Atkins, Notlim Taylor, Amir O’Neil, Bresha Webb and Diallo Riddle. The comedy is inspired by the real life of Marlon Wayans and centers on a loving (but immature) father committed to co-parenting his two kids with his very-together ex-wife. Moynihan and Wayans are also executive producing the Universal Television production with Rick Alvarez (Fifty Shades of Black, White Chicks), Michael Rotenberg (Silicon Valley, It’s Always Sunny in Philadelphia), as well as Andy Ackerman (The New Adventures of Old Christine) who also directed the pilot episode.
Gary Lionelli is scoring HBO’s upcoming untitled Ben Bradlee documentary. The film is directed by John Maggio and centers on the legendary Washington Post executive editor who became a national figure during the presidency of Richard Nixon, when he challenged the federal government over the right to publish the Pentagon Papers. Peter Kunhardt (Becoming Warren Buffett) is producing the project with Richard Cohen.

Christophe Beck has composed the original score for the upcoming thriller Gringo. The film is directed by Nash Edgerton (The Square) and stars David Oyelowo, Joel Edgerton, Charlize Theron, Paris Jackson, Amanda Seyfried, Yul Vazquez, Thandie Newton and Sharlto Copley. The movie follows an American businessman with a stake in a pharmaceutical company that’s about to go public who finds his life is thrown into turmoil by an incident in Mexico. Anthony Tambakis (Warrior) and Matt Stone (Intolerable Cruelty) wrote the screenplay.

Elliot Goldenthal (Frida, Interview with the Vampire, Heat, Alien 3) has recently composed the music for the upcoming romantic drama Our Souls at Night. The film is directed by Ritesh Batra (The Sense of an Ending, The Lunchbox) and stars Jane Fonda, Robert Redford, Matthias Schoenaerts, Judy Greer, Iain Armitage and Bruce Dern. The movie is based on a novel by Kent Haruf and and follows a widow who tries to make a connection with her Colorado neighbor, a widower. Scott Neustadter & Michael H. Weber (The Fault in Our Stars, (500) Days of Summer) adapted the novel for the screen.
