Milan Records will release a soundtrack album for the Korean thriller Rage (Ikari) in the U.S. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award winner Ryuichi Sakamoto (The Last Emperor, The Revenant, Snake Eyes, The Sheltering Sky). A CD version is currently set to be released on October 27, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. The soundtrack has previously been released in Korea and Japan last fall. Rage is directed by Sang-il Lee and stars Ken Watanabe, Mirai Moriyama, Kenichi Matsuyama, Go Ayano, Suzu Hirose, Aoi Miyazaki, Satoshi Tsumabuki and Takara Sakumoto. Rupert Gregson-Williams has been hired to score the upcoming TNT original series The Alienist. The show is developed by Cary Fukunaga (True Detective, Jane Eyre) based on the novel of same name by Caleb Carr and stars Daniel Brühl, Luke Evans, Dakota Fanning, Brian Geraghty, Robert Wisdom, Douglas Smith, Matthew Shear, Matt Lintz, Brian Geraghty and Q’orianka Kilcher. The psychological thriller drama is set in 1896, when a series of gruesome murders of boy prostitutes has gripped the city and follows a newly appointed top cop who calls upon a criminal psychologist and a newspaper illustrator to conduct the investigation in secret. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the animated feature Leap! directed by Éric Summer & Éric Warin and starring Elle Fanning, Nat Wolff, Maddie Ziegler, Mel Brooks, Kate McKinnon & Carly Rae Jepsen. The film’s original score is composed by Klaus Badelt (Pirates of the Caribbean: The Curse of the Black Pearl, The Time Machine, The Recruit).
