John Frizzell is reteaming with Mike Judge on the new Cinemax original series Mike Judge Presents: Tales from the Tour Bus. The animated series is created Judge (Silicon Valley, King of the Hill), Richard Mullins & Dub Cornett and recounts the raucous adventures of country music’s most legendary artists, including Johnny Paycheck, Jerry Lee Lewis, George Jones and Tammy Wynette, Billy Joe Shaver, Waylon Jennings and Blaze Foley, as told by those who knew them best. CBS has published a behind-the-scenes video featuring the main theme from Star Trek: Discovery. The video features footage of Emmy Award-winning composer Jeff Russo (Fargo, Legion, The Night Of, Snowfall, Power) recording his theme with a 60-piece orchestra, as well as interviews with Russo himself and co-creator/executive producer Alex Kurtzman. Pekka Kuusisto & Samuli Kosminen to Score ‘Moominvalley’ TV Series

Classical violinist Pekka Kuusisto and percussionist Samuli Kosminen are set to compose the music for the upcoming animated series Moominvalley. The show based on Scandinavian’s children’s books The Moomins is produced by the Finnish production company Gutsy Animations and will feature the voices of Rosamund Pike, Taron Egerton, Kate Winslet, Warwick Davis, Matt Berry, Richard Ayoade, Will Self and Akiya Henry. Steve Box (The Curse of the Were-Rabbit) is directing the series. Mark Huckerby & Nick Ostler (Howl, Don’t Knock Twice) serve as writers and John Woolley (Shaun the Sheep) is producing the project. The album features the film’s original music composed by Bear McCreary (10 Cloverfield Lane, The Walking Dead, Outlander, Battlestar Galactica, Colossal, Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.). Unrest tells the story of Harvard PhD student Jennifer Brea (who also directed the movie) who is struck down at 28 by a mysterious fever that leaves her bedridden. Dario Marianelli has been tapped to score the upcoming family movie sequel Paddington 2. The film is directed by Paul King who previously helmed the 2014 original movie and stars Hugh Bonneville, Sally Hawkins, Julie Walters, Jim Broadbent, Peter Capaldi, Madeleine Harris, Samuel Joslin and Imelda Staunton, as well as Ben Whishaw as the voice of the title character. They are joined by new cast members Hugh Grant and Brendan Gleeson. The movie finds Paddington happily settled with the Brown family in Windsor Gardens. While searching for the perfect present for his aunt’s hundredth birthday, Paddington embarks upon a series of odd jobs to buy a unique pop-up book in Mr. Gruber’s antique shop. Nord-Ouest Films will release a soundtrack album for the French thriller My Son (Mon garçon). The album features the film’s original music composed by Laurent Perez Del Mar (The Red Turtle, I Kill Giants). The soundtrack will be released digitally this Friday, September 15, and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio clips. My Son is directed by Christian Carion (Joyeux Noel) and stars Guillaume Canet, Mélanie Laurent and Olivier De Benoist. The movie revolves around a husband and wife who are growing apart as the man receives a message from his distraught ex-wife during a stop-over in France. won their first Emmy Award for their main titles theme music from the Netflix original series Stranger Things at tonight’s Creative Arts Emmy Awards ceremony at the Microsoft Theatre LA LIVE in Downtown Los Angeles. Jeff Russo received his first Emmy Award for his score from the third season of the FX original series Fargo in the Outstanding Music Composition for a Limited Series, Movie or a Special category. He was previously nominated twice for his work on the show’s first two seasons. Premiering tonight is the new Fox comedy drama The Orville created by Seth MacFarlane and starring himself, alongside Adrianne Palicki, Mark Jackson, Scott Grimes, Peter Macon, J Lee, Halston Sage and Penny Johnson. Bruce Broughton (Silverado) has composed the show’s theme and score for the first episode and John Debney (The Passion of the Christ) and Joel McNeely (A Million Ways to Die in the West) are scoring the following episodes. Also premiering tonight is the HBO original series The Deuce created by David Simon & George Pelecanos and starring James Franco, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Gary Carr, Margarita Levieva, Lawrence Gilliard Jr., Dominique Fishback, Emily Meade, Gbenga Akinnagbe, Chris Bauer, Chris Coy, Natalie Paul and Michael Rispoli. The show doesn’t feature an original score. Blake Leyh serves as the project’s music supervisor. The Deuce tells the story of the legalization and subsequent rise of the porn industry in New York’s Times Square from the early 70s through the mid 80s. The drama will air Sunday nights on HBO. Common, Robert Glasper and Karriem Riggins have received the Emmy Award for the original song Letter to the Free from Ava DuVernay’s Netflix documentary 13th in the Music & Lyrics category at the Creative Arts Emmy Awards. Common & Glasper accepted their first Emmy Award in person at the ceremony at the Microsoft Theatre LA LIVE in Downtown Los Angeles. The song was previously nominated for the Critics Choice Awards earlier this year. In the Outstanding Music Direction category, Rickey Minor was honored for his work on the ABC special Taking The Stage: African American Music and Stories That Changed America.
