Arthur B. Rubinstein has passed away yesterday, April 23, at age 80. The composer is best known for his work on numerous films directed by John Badham, including the 1983 classic WarGames, 1983’s Blue Thunder starring Roy Scheider, 1987’s StakeOut starring Richard Dreyfuss & Emilio Estevez and its 1993 sequel, 1991’s The Hard Way starring Michael J. Academy Announces Rule Change in Music Categories

The Academy’s Board of Governors has approved Oscars rules and campaign regulations for the 91st Academy Awards, including a change in the music categories, where “all members of the Music Branch will view films eligible for Original Score and film clips of eligible Original Songs and vote in a preliminary round to produce a shortlist of 15 titles in each category using the preferential voting system.
