Dream Studio has released a soundtrack album for the Chinese historical action drama Dongji Rescue. The album features the film’s original music composed by Emmy Award nominee Atli Örvarsson (Silo, The Hitman’s Bodyguard, Vantage Point, Defending Jacob, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, Rams, The Eagle, The Edge of Seventeen). Fei Yu serves as the project’s music producer. The soundtrack is now available to stream/download on Amazon (and most other major digital music services), where you can also check out the track list (in Chinese). The movie takes place in 1942 and tells the story of a group of Dongji fishermen who risked their lives to rescue over three hundred British soldiers and rescued three British individuals during a large-scale search by Japanese forces.

Atli Örvarsson (Silo, The Hitman’s Bodyguard, Defending Jacob, Vantage Point, Hansel & Gretel: Witch Hunters, The Eagle, The Edge of Seventeen, Rams) has composed the original score for the new Chinese historical action drama Dongji Rescue. The movie takes place in 1942, when a Japanese ship carrying British prisoners of war was torpedoed and tells the story of a group of Dongji fishermen who risked their lives to rescue over 300 British soldiers and protected and rescued three British individuals during a large-scale search by Japanese forces.
‘Black Dog’ Soundtrack Album Details
Dream Studio will release a soundtrack album for the Chinese drama Black Dog (Gou Zhen). The album features the film’s original music composed by Breton Vivian (Yellowstone, Five Feet Apart, 1883, 1923, Redeeming Love). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, October 30 and will be available to stream/download on Amazon and any other major digital music services. Also listen to the composer’s title track below. Black Dog is co-written and directed by Guan Hu and stars Eddie Peng and Jia Zhang-ke. The movie is set on the edge of the Gobi desert in Northwest China and follows a man who returns to his hometown after being released from jail and – while working for the local dog patrol team to clear the town of stray dogs before the Olympics, strikes up an unlikely connection with a black dog.
‘The Eight Hundred’ Soundtrack Details
Universal Music China & Go East Music Entertainment will release a soundtrack album for the Chinese war epic The Eight Hundred. The album features the film’s original music composed by Rupert Gregson-Williams (Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Hacksaw Ridge, The Legend of Tarzan) who provided the main theme and Andrew Kawczynski (The Amazing Spider-Man 2, Sky Hunter, The Corrupted) who composed the original score. Also included is the song Remembering (in two different versions) based on the traditional Irish folk tune Londonderry Air performed by tenor Andrea Bocelli and Chinese pop star Na Ying. The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, August 21 and will be available to stream on Amazon. The Eight Hundred is directed by Guan Hu and stars Yi Zhang, Chen Yao, Augusta Xu-Holland and Haoming Yu.
Andrea Bocelli to Perform Theme Song for Guan Hu’s ‘The Eight Hundred’
Italian tenor Andrea Bocelli is providing the theme song for the upcoming Chinese war epic The Eight Hundred (Ba bai). The film is directed by Guan Hu (Mr. Six, Cow) and tells the story of a group of Chinese soldiers and draft dodgers in 1937 who put up a four-day defense of a Shanghai warehouse complex just as Japanese forces are overwhelming China. Andrew Kawczynski is scoring the film and previously announced composer Rupert Gregson-Williams (Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Hacksaw Ridge, The Crown) is writing the theme for the Huayi Bros. production, which marks the first Chinese feature to be shot with Imax digital cameras.
