The 2-parter is directed by Niharika Desai (The Principles of Pleasure), narrated by Phoebe Waller-Bridge and centers on one of the most intelligent and mysterious life forms on Earth as it follows the Giant Pacific Octopus from birth to death. The special features an eclectic mix of characters who have their own unique connections to these creatures, from the explorer trying to understand them, the scientist trying to save them to actor/comedian Tracy Morgan who is obsessed with them. Opening in theaters nationwide today is the superhero movie Thunderbolts* directed by Jake Schreier and starring Florence Pugh, Sebastian Stan, David Harbour,Wyatt Russell, Olga Kurylenko, Hannah John-Kamen, Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Lewis Pullman, Chris Bauer, Geraldine Viswanathan and Wendell Edward Pierce. The film’s original music is composed by Son Lux (Ryan Lott, Ian Chang & Rafiq Bhatia) (Everything Everywhere All at Once, The Disappearance of Eleanor Rigby, Paper Towns). Hollywood Records & Marvel Music have released a soundtrack album featuring the band’s score this past Wednesday. Opening semi-wide in around 900 theaters today is the psychological thriller The Surfer directed by Lorcan Finnegan and starring Nicolas Cage, Julian McMahon, Alexander Bertrand, Nic Cassim, Justin Rosniak and Miranda Tapsell. François Tétaz (Wolf Creek, HesherJudy & Punch, Rogue, The Portal) has composed the film’s original music. Rubber Music has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score today and Impressed Recordings will release a vinyl edition in the coming weeks. The film is written and directed by Maggie Gyllenhaal (The Lost Daughter) and stars Christian Bale, Jessie Buckley, Penélope Cruz, Peter Sarsgaard and Annette Bening. The movie follows a lonely Frankenstein who travels to 1930s Chicago to seek the aid of a Dr. Euphronius in creating a companion for himself and – together – reinvigorate a murdered young woman. Walt Disney Records has released the first song from the soundtrack for the upcoming Disney Channel original movie Zombies 4: Dawn of the Vampires. Available to stream/download now on all major digital music platforms is The Place to Be written by Mitch Allan & Chantry Johnson and performed by cast members Milo Manheim, Meg Donnelly, Freya Skye, Malachi Barton, Swayam Bhatia, Julian Lerner & Mekonnen Knife. The Scottish post-rock band Mogwai (Black Bird, ZeroZeroZero, The Returned, Kin) has composed the original music for the new BBC drama The Bombing of Pan Am 103. The show is created by lead writer Jonathan Lee (Who Killed Jill Dando?) and stars Connor Swindells, Patrick J. Adams, Merritt Wever, Peter Mullan, Eddie Marsan, Tony Curran, Nicholas Gleaves and Kevin McKidd. The 6-part series directed by Michael Keillor (Roadkill) is based on the true story of the bombing of a passenger flight over the small Scottish town of Lockerbie in 1988 and the quest to bring its perpetrators to justice. The full details of the soundtrack album for the movie musical Juliet & Romeo have been revealed. The album features the film’s original songs written and produced by Evan Bogart & Justin Gray (Spinning Gold). The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, May 9 by Lakeshore Records and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. A first song (The Mask I Wear) has already been released as a digital single last week and a second track (Beat the Same performed by lead actors Clara Rugaard & Jamie Ward) has just been released today and can also been checked out after the jump. Juliet & Romeo is written and directed by Timothy Scott Bogart and also stars Rebel Wilson,  Jason Isaacs, Dan Fogler, Derek Jacobi, Ledisi, Tayla Parx, Martina Ortiz Luis, Ferdia Walsh-Peelo and Rupert Graves. La-La Land Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1991 crime drama Thelma & Louise directed by Ridley Scott and starring Susan Sarandon, Geena Davis, Harvey Keitel, Christopher Macdonald, Michael Madsen and Brad Pitt. The album features the newly remastered (and slightly expanded) original score from the MGM production composed by Academy Award winner Hans Zimmer (DuneThe Lion King, The Dark KnightInceptionPirates of the Caribbean, Interstellar, Man of SteelRain Man). Also included are several alternate and film version bonus tracks, as well as a 2000 concert suite demo.
