Sony Classical has released the first track from the soundtrack for the action sequel Mission: Impossible – The Final Reckoning. Available to stream/download now is the main titles track written by the film’s composers Max Aruj (Crawl, The Ice Road, iBoy, Lansky) and Alfie Godfrey (Marching Powder, A Town Called Malice, Horsepower) and featuring Lalo Schifrin’s classic Mission: Impossible theme. Remastered ‘First Blood’ Soundtrack Album Announced

Intrada Records has announced a new soundtrack album for the 1982 action classic First Blood directed by Ted Kotcheff and starring Sylvester Stallone, Richard Crenna and Brian Dennehy. The album features the film’s newly remastered complete original score composed and conducted by Academy Award winner Jerry Goldsmith (The Omen, Star Trek: The Motion Picture, Chinatown, Alien, The Mummy, Planet of the Apes, Patton, Basic Instinct). The 2-CD set is now available to order on the label’s official website, where you can also check out the track list, listen to audio samples and find out more about the release. ‘You’re a Good Sport, Charlie Brown’ 50th Anniversary Edition Soundtrack Album Announced

Lee Mendelson Film Productions will release a new soundtrack album for the 1975 animated television special You’re a Good Sport, Charlie Brown created by Charles M. Schulz and directed by Phil Roman. The album features the premiere release of complete score from the fourteenth Peanuts special composed by Vince Guaraldi (A Charlie Brown Christmas, It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown, A Boy Named Charlie Brown, A Charlie Brown Thanksgiving). Also included are four additional bonus tracks from the 1973 LMFP project Bicycles Are Beautiful scored by Vince Guaraldi, who is joined by McCain on bass and Glenn Cronkhite on drums for those tracks. ‘John Williams: The Anthology’ – Vol. 1 Box Set Announced

Sony Classical has announced John Williams: The Anthology – Vol. 1 1969-1990, the first installment of a three-part box set that celebrates the legendary composer and his deep body of work. The 22 discs in Volume 1 showcase Williams’ music for 27 films, including the first three Star Wars movie, the first two Indiana Jones installments, Jaws, E.T. The Extra-Terrestrial, Close Encounters of the Third Kind, Superman , Born on the Fourth of July, Home Alone, along other titles. Each disc will be housed in a small jacket that can hold four discs, featuring cover graphics that showcase the original artwork, just as it appeared upon its initial release. Premiering in the U.S. tonight is the British TV series Miss Austen written by Andrea Gibb based on Gill Hornby’s novel and starring Keeley Hawes, Rose Leslie, Patsy Ferran, Phyllis Logan, Synnøve Karlsen, Max Irons, Jessica Hynes, Alfred Enoch, Kevin McNally, Calam Lynch, Mirren Mack and Liv Hill. The show’s original music is composed by Dominik Scherrer (The Missing, The Tourist, The Widow, Primeval, Baptiste, The Serpent, Ripper Street, The Confessions of Frannie Langton, Requiem). Dubois Records has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score this past February following its debut in the UK on BBC One. Premiering on Thursday, May 8, is the Netflix original series Forever created by Mara Brock Akil based on Judy Blume’s novel of the same name and starring Lovie Simone, Michael Cooper Jr., Karen Pittman, Xosha Roquemore, Wood Harris, Marvin Winans III, Niles Fitch, Ali Gallo, Adriyan Rae, Barry Shabaka Henley, Paigion Walker, E’myri Crutchfield and Xavier Mills.
