The album features the film’s original music composed by Laura Rossi (Unfinished Song, The Cottage, The Firm) who recorded her score with the Chamber Orchestra of London. Hurricane is directed by David Blair (Away) and stars Iwan Rheon, Milo Gibson, Stefanie Martini, Kristof Hadek and Marcin Dorocinski. The movie tells the true story of Lt. Publicist Beth Krakower who specialized in promoting film/TV composers and soundtrack albums/cast recordings has passed away yesterday, September 5, at St. John’s Hospital in Santa Monica after a nearly two year battle with breast cancer. She was 46. Among her clients were composers Cliff Martinez (Drive, Traffic), Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, 10 Cloverfield Lane), Rolfe Kent (Sideways, Wedding Crashers), Jeff Beal (House of Cards, Pollock), Lalo Schifrin (Mission: Impossible, Rush Hour), Blake Neely (Arrow, The Flash) and Michael Abels (Get Out). The album features the classic songs from the movie performed by Joan Jett and her bands The Blackhearts and The Runaways, as well as Bikini Kill’s Rebel Girl (produced by Jett), Fea’s song Feminazi and Jett’s, Miley Cyrus’ & Laura Jane Grace’s cover of The Replacement’s Androgynous. Bad Reputation is directed by Kevin Kerslake and follows Jett from her early years as the founder and backbone of the all-female band the Runaways during the 1970s punk scene. Lalo Schifrin to Receive Honorary Academy Award at 2018 Governors Awards

The Board of Governors of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences voted Tuesday night (September 4) to present an Honorary Award to composer Lalo Schifrin. He will be honored at the Academy’s 10th Annual Governors Awards on Sunday, November 18, at the Ray Dolby Ballroom at Hollywood & Highland Center. Born and raised in Argentina, Schifrin studied classical music and jazz in France before beginning to compose for film in Buenos Aires in the mid-1950s.
