Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for the indie coming-of-age dramedy First Girl I Loved. The album features the film’s original music composed by John Swihart (Napoleon Dynamite, How I Met Your Mother, Switched at Birth, Youth in Revolt, New in Town). The soundtrack will be released digitally on October 14, 2016 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also listen to audio samples. First Girl I Loved is written and directed by Kerem Sanga and stars Dylan Gelula, Brianna Hildebrand, Mateo Arias, Jennifer Prediger, Tim Heidecker and Pamela Adlon. Three new movies are opening nationwide this week:
Expected to top the weekend box office is the dramatic thriller The Girl on the Train directed by Tate Taylor and starring Emily Blunt, Rebecca Ferguson, Haley Bennett, Justin Theroux, Luke Evans, Allison Janney, Edgar Ramirez, Lisa Kudrow and Laura Prepon. The film’s original music is composed by Danny Elfman (Batman, Spider-Man, Alice in Wonderland, Fifty Shades of Grey). Sony Classical has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score. Also opening nationwide is the historical drama The Birth of a Nation directed by Nate Parker who also stars in the movie alongside Armie Hammer, Mark Boone Jr., Colman Domingo, Aunjanue Ellis, Dwight Henry, Gabrielle Union, Penelope Ann Miller and Jackie Earle Haley. Atlantic Records has released a soundtrack album featuring songs inspired by the film by artists such as Nas, Gucci Mane & Lil Wayne, 2 Chainz, Trey Songz & more. Click here for more information. Charlie Clouser to Return for ‘Saw: Legacy’

Charlie Clouser has signed on to score the upcoming horror thriller Saw: Legacy. The film is directed by Peter and Michael Spierig (Daybreakers, Predestination) and marks the eight installment in the horror series. No casting announcement have been made yet. Josh Stolberg and Pete Goldfiner (Piranha 3D, Sorority Row) have written the screenplay. Mark Burg and Oren Kholes (John Q, Set It Off) are producing the project. Quartet Records has announced a soundtrack album for the animated feature Ozzy. The album features the film’s original music composed and conducted by Fernando Velazquez (Crimson Peak, The Impossible, A Monster Calls, Hercules, Mama, The Orphanage). Ozzy is written by Juan Ramon Ruiz de Somavia and directed by Alberto Rodriguez.
