Four new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the animated feature Smallfoot directed by Karey Kirkpatrick and starring Channing Tatum, Zendaya, James Corden, Common, LeBron James, Gina Rodriguez, Danny DeVito and Yara Shahidi. The director and Wayne Kirkpatrick have composed the film’s original songs and Heitor Pereira (Despicable Me, Minions, The Angry Birds Movie) has composed the film’s original score. WaterTower Music has released a soundtrack album featuring both score and songs. Check out our previous article for the full album details.

Also opening wide is the horror thriller Hell Fest directed by Gregory Plotkin and starring Amy Forsyth, Reign Edwards, Bex Taylor-Klaus, Christian James, Roby Attal, Matt Mercurio and Tony Todd. The film’s original music is composed by Bear McCreary (The Walking Dead, 10 Cloverfield Lane, Battlestar Galactica, Outlander, Happy Death Day). Sparks & Shadows has released a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score, as well as tracks by Brendan McKian, John Massari and Crisis Couture. ‘Stronger’ Cover from ‘Under the Sea: A Descendants Short Story’ Released

Walt Disney Records has released a new digital single featuring the cover version of Kelly Clarkson’s Stronger performed by Dove Cameron & China Anne McClain from Disney Channel’s Under the Sea: A Descendants Short Story. The song is now available to download on Amazon. Check out the music video after the jump. Under the Sea: A Descendants Short Story is set between Disney’s Descendants 2 and Descendants 3 and stars Cameron, McClain, as well as Thomas Doherty and Dylan Playfair. Mark Mothersbaugh has recently composed the original score for the upcoming comedy Holmes & Watson. The film is written and directed by Etan Cohen (Get Hard) and stars Will Ferrell, John C. Reilly, Noah Jupe, Kelly Macdonald, Rebecca Hall, Ralph Fiennes & Hugh Laurie. The movie is a comedic take on Arthur Conan Doyle’s classic mysteries featuring Sherlock Holmes and Doctor Watson. Ferrell is also producing the project with Adam McKay (The Big Short, Anchorman), Jimmy Miller (Bad Teacher, Step Brothers) and Clayton Townsend (Bridesmaids, The 40-Year Old Virgin). Composer John Dragonetti (The Internet’s Own Boy: The Story of Aaron Swartz, We Are Legion: The Story of the Hacktivists, Married, Freeloaders) has released Nina’s Theme from the indie comedy drama All About Nina. The track is now available to download as a digital single on Amazon. All About Nina is written and directed by Eva Vives and stars Mary Elizabeth Winstead, Common, Chace Crawford, Clea DuVall, Kate del Castillo and Beau Bridges. The album features the film’s original music composed by Howard Goodall (Mr. Bean TV series, Bean, Mr. Bean’s Holiday). Darkroom and Interscope Records have released a soundtrack album for the indie drama Skate Kitchen. The album features the songs from the movie by Clairo, Khalid, Omar Apollo, Princess Nokia, Future Brown, Ambar Lucid, R I T U A L, MPeach & more, as well as Jaden Smith’s original track Back On My Sh*T, which was also released as a digital single earlier this week. Also included are selections from the movie’s original score composed by Aska Matsumiya. The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Skate Kitchen is directed by Crystal Moselle and stars Rachelle Vinberg, Dede Lovelace, Nina Moran, Jaden Smith, Kabrina Adams, Brenn Lorenzo, Hisham Tawfiq and Elizabeth Rodriguez. Lakeshore Records will release a soundtrack album for Ben Wheatley’s Happy New Year, Colin Burstead. The album features the film’s original music composed by Clint Mansell (Requiem for a Dream, Black Swan, The Fountain, Moon, Noah, Loving Vincent) who previously scored the director’s High-Rise. The soundtrack will be released digitally next Friday, October 5 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon. Happy New Year, Colin Burstead is written and directed by Wheatley and stars Neil Maskell, Hayley Squires, Sam Riley, Joe Cole, Mark Monero, Charles Dance, Asim Chaudhry, Doon Mackichan and Bill Paterson. The movie follows the title character as he hires a lavish country manor for his extended family to celebrate New Year, but his position of power in the family comes under threat from the arrival of his estranged brother. The album features selections of the show’s original music composed by Joe Kraemer (Mission: Impossible – Rogue Nation, Jack Reacher, Femme Fatales, The Way of the Gun). The soundtrack will be released digitally tomorrow, September 28 and will be available to download on Amazon. Comrade Detective is created by Brian Gatewood & Alessandro Tanaka and stars Florin Piersic, Jr. and Corneliu Ulici. The show follows the lead characters (voiced by Channing Tatum & Joseph Gordon-Levitt) as are they investigating the murder of a fellow officer and, in the process, unraveling a subversive plot to destroy their country.
