Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:

Opening in most theaters is the action sequel John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum directed by Chad Stahelski and starring Keanu Reeves, Halle Berry, Laurence Fishburne, Mark Dacascos, Anjelica Huston, Jason Mantzoukas and Ian McShane. The film’s original music is composed by Tyler Bates (Guardians of the Galaxy, Deadpool 2, 300, Watchmen, The Punisher) & Joel J. Richard (John Wick 1 & 2). Varese Sarabande has released a soundtrack album featuring the composers’ score today. Check out our previous article for the full album details.

Also opening wide is the family drama A Dog’s Journey directed by Gail Mancuso and starring Kathryn Prescott, Betty Gilpin, Dennis Quaid, Henry Lau, Marg Helgenberger and Josh Gad. Mark Isham (Crash, Once Upon a Time, The Accountant, A River Runs Through It) has composed the film’s original score. ‘Ma’ Soundtrack Details

Back Lot Music will release a soundtrack album for the psychological horror thriller Ma. The album features the film’s original music composed by Gregory Tripi (Manhunt: Unabomber, Rememory, The Fix, Dark Places). The soundtrack will be released digitally on May 24 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Ma is directed by Tate Taylor (The Help, The Girl on the Train) and stars Octavia Spencer, Juliette Lewis, Diana Silvers, Luke Evans, McKaley Miller, Missi Pyle, Corey Fogelmanis, Gianni Paolo and Dante Brown. ‘All Creatures Here Below’ Soundtrack Released

Gustavo Dudamel, Jeanine Tesori & Matt Sullivan Join Music Team for Steven Spielberg’s ‘West Side Story’

It was announced today that acclaimed conductor Gustavo Dudamel will be guiding the baton for the film’s recording of Leonard Bernstein’s score for Steven Spielberg’s new film adaptation of West Side Story. As previously reported, David Newman (Anastasia, Ice Age, Serenity) will be arranging the Bernstein score for the new adaptation. Tony Award winner Jeanine Tesori (Broadway’s Fun Home and Thoroughly Modern Millie) will be working with the cast on vocals and Matt Sullivan (Beauty and the Beast, Chicago) will serve as executive music producer for the film. The album features the film’s original score composed by Christopher Lennertz (Lost in Space, Horrible Bosses, Agent Carter, Ride Along, Think Like a Man). Lionsgate Records has released a score album for the romantic comedy Long Shot. The album features the film’s original music composed by Academy Award nominee Marco Beltrami (3:10 to Yuma, Scream, A Quiet Place, Logan, The Hurt Locker) & Miles Hankins (The Night Before, Len and Company). The soundtrack is now available to download on Amazon, where you can also check out audio samples. Long Shot is directed by Jonathan Levine and stars Seth Rogen, Charlize Theron, Andy Serkis, June Diane Raphael, Ravi Patel, Bob Odenkirk and Alexander Skarsgård. 35th Anniversary Release of Elmer Bernstein’s ‘Ghostbusters’ Score Announced

Sony Music has announced a new soundtrack release for the 1984 classic Ghostbusters directed by Ivan Reitman and starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Sigourney Weaver, Harold Ramis and Rick Moranis. The album, which coincides with the movie’s 35h anniversary, features the film’s original score composed by Elmer Bernstein (The Magnificent Seven, To Kill a Mockingbird, Airplane, Far from Heaven), newly mixed and remastered from the score’s original multi-tracks, as well as new artwork, commentary from Elmer’s son, Peter Bernstein, and four previously unreleased tracks.
