Intrada Records has announced the world premiere CD release of the soundtrack albums for the Fox docu-series Cosmos: A Spacetime Odyssey executive produced by Seth MacFarlane, Ann Druyan, Mitchell Cannold & Brannon Braga and hosted by astrophysicist Neil deGrasse Tyson. The albums feature the show’s original music composed and conducted by Alan Silvestri (Back to the Future, Forrest Gump, Cast Away, The Avengers, Captain America: The First Avenger), including bonus tracks that were not featured on the digital soundtrack release, which came out back in 2014. Martin Phipps to Score James Kent’s ‘The Aftermath’

Martin Phipps has been hired to score the upcoming period drama The Aftermath. The film is directed by James Kent (Testament of Youth, The Thirteenth Tale) and stars Keira Knightley, Alexander Skarsgard, Jason Clarke, Alexander Scheer, Kate Phillips, Martin Compston and Fionn O’Shea. The movie based on the novel by Rhidian Brook takes place in the aftermath of World War II and follows a British colonel and his wife who are assigned to live in Hamburg during the post-war reconstruction. Joe Shrapnel & Anna Waterhouse (Race, Frankie & Alice) wrote the screenplay. Ridley Scott (Gladiator, Alien, The Martian) is producing the project through his Scott Free production company, alongside Malte Grunert (A Most Wanted Man, Perfect Sense) and Jack Arbuthnott. CBS’ ‘9JKL’ to Feature Music by Gabriel Mann

Gabriel Mann is set to compose the original score for the upcoming CBS comedy 9JKL. The show is created by Dana Klein (Friends with Better Lives) & Mark Feuerstein who also stars in the series alongside Linda Lavin, Elliott Gould, David Walton, Liza Lapira and Matt Murray. The comedy is inspired by Feuerstein’s adult life when he lived in apartment 9K in the building he grew up in, sandwiched between his doting parents’ apartment, 9J, and his brother, sister-in-law and their baby’s apartment. Feuerstein is also executive producing the CBS Television production with Pamela Fryman (How I Met Your Mother), Aaron Kaplan (The Mysteries of Laura, Divorce, American Housewife), Dana Honor and Wendi Trilling. Jeff Cardoni is reteaming with director Michael Winnick on the upcoming horror thriller Malicious. The film starring Josh Stewart, Delroy Lindo, Bojana Novakovic, Melissa Bolona and Yvette Yates follows a young college professor and his pregnant wife who find and open an antique box in their new home, unwittingly releasing a malevolent entity with murderous intentions. Kevin Kiner has recently composed the music for the upcoming thriller Inconceivable. The movie follows a mother who looks to escape her abusive past by moving to a new town where she befriends another mother, who grows suspicious of her. Chloe King (B. Monkey) wrote the screenplay. Premiering tonight is the new TNT original series Claws created by Eliot Laurence, executive produced by Rashida Jones & Will McCormack and starring Niecy Nash, Carrie Preston, Harold Perrineau, Jenn Lyon, Judy Reyes, Jack Kesy, Karrueche Tran, Kevin Rankin and Jason Antoon. The show’s original music is composed by Jeff Rona (White Squall, Exit Wounds, Chicago Hope, Generation Iron, Powers, Traffic). Premiering tomorrow, June 12, is the Showtime docu-series The Putin Interviews directed by Oliver Stone who, alongside his longtime documentary producer Fernando Sulichin, interviewed the Russian president Vladimir Putin more than a dozen times over the course of two years for the project. Jeff Beal (House of Cards, Rome, Pollock, Monk, Carnivale, Appaloosa, Ugly Betty) has composed the original music for the 4-parter. Varese Sarabande will release a soundtrack album featuring the composer’s score from the show. The film is based on an original story by animation icon Bruce Timm and features the voices of Kevin Conroy as Batman, Loren Lester as Nightwing, Melissa Rauch as Harley Quinn, Paget Brewster as Poison Ivy, Kevin Michael Richardson as Floronic Man and John DiMaggio as Swamp Thing. The movie directed by Sam Liu follows Batman and Nightwing as they are forced to team with Harley Quinn to stop a global threat brought about by Poison Ivy and Jason Woodrue/Floronic Man. Three new movies are opening nationwide this weekend:
Opening in most theaters is the fantasy adventure The Mummy directed by Alex Kurtzman and starring Tom Cruise, Sofia Boutella, Annabelle Wallis, Jake Johnson, Courtney B. Vance and Russell Crowe. The film’s original music is composed by Brian Tyler (Fast & Furious, Iron Man 3, Avengers: Age of Ultron, Now You See Me, Thor: The Dark World). Back Lot Music has released a digital deluxe edition soundtrack today and will release a CD version next week. Also opening wide is the horror thriller It Comes at Night written and directed by Trey Edward Shults and starring Joel Edgerton, Christopher Abbott, Carmen Ejogo, Riley Keough and Kelvin Harrion Jr. Brian McOmber (Krisha, A Teacher, Ugly) has composed the film’s original music. Sony Masterworks will release the official soundtrack album for the fantasy adventure The Dark Tower. The album features the film’s original music composed by Tom Holkenborg (aka Junkie XL) (Mad Max: Fury Road, Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice, Divergent, Black Mass, 300: Rise of an Empire). The soundtrack will be released on August 4, 2017 and is now available for pre-order on Amazon.
